***All polls across the state of Virginia open at 6 am and close at 7 pm on Election Day Tuesday November 3rd, 2009***
Full election results (available after 7 PM)
The Commonwealth is ours.
I expect the LSM will be calling it for McDonnell within less than 10 minutes after the polls close. IOW, about 30 minutes from now.
Funny, I was just thinking it will only be five minutes.
Doubtful. Sabato already called it a “landslide” for McDonnell and for the Va. GOP.
I did say LESS than 10 minutes :)
I saw my delegate when I went to vote this morning. He asked me where I was going to go to celebrate tonight. He is the only Dem that is going to win in Accomack county today and knows it.
Thanks for doing this.
I expect FNC will call it the moment polls close.
An early tip of the hat to NJ, NY23, and VA poll workers. It can be disheartening to close the polls, turn on a radio or TV in the room, and before even opening the ballot box to start counting, see that a network was simply waiting for the polls to close to call the election.
YEP...I worked the polls the night GW was elected the first time...and it was being called for Gore.....we’re on the west coast....
Just heard the CNN top of the hour radio news, they refuse to call it yet :)
I was thinking they’d call for McDonnell/Bolling/Cuccinelli by 7:01p ... then later word on Delegates.
I’m going to sit back to enjoy the Sarah effect.
Sarah, Baby, Sarah!
“:-D
Does anyone know what type of voting machines they are using in Virginia?
How soon before results start pouring into the State?
Thanks
CNN didn’t call it and that happens to be the network the radio station I’m listening to is affiliated with.
As of 7:11pm the state website has NO precincts reporting.
Yes, thanks to the poll workers.
When I did it, my riding went solidly conservative, and after confirming the votes, I went out to my car on a high, only to turn on the radio to find the liberals had won the general election again.
The good news is that was 10 years ago. :-)
First results are coming in:
Robert F. “Bob” McDonnell 590 70.65%
R. Creigh Deeds 245 29.34%
Write In 0 0%
We had paper ballots for the first time in years. Others in the area did as well.
