Huge mistake if she does. No 3rd party candidate in the history of the republic has ever won. Good chance that Obama would get a second term too.

No 3rd party candidate in the history of the republic has ever won.

Not entirely true...

United States presidential election of 1860

The Republican Party began life as a 3rd Party, alongside the Democrat Party and the disintegrating Whig Party.

It could be argued that the modern day Republican Party is falling apart just like the Whigs did in the 1850s, with the possible emergence of a true Conservative Party arising out of its ashes. Hopefully.

Yep, everything tells me her political instincts are too good and her study of things Reagan has been too thorough for her to fall for a third-party trap.

She knows she’s got work to do digging out the Augean Republican Stables—but she looks to be hard at work at that right now.

Just because no 3rd party candidate in the history of the republic has never won, does not infer it as an absolute. History, as with records and molds, are meant to be broken; neither are a constant or an absolute, in no shape and form. To apply such in the case of a possible 3rd party run by someone is dubious, at best, despite what history indicates. Hoffman(C) in the 23rd District is walking and talking proof.

Exactly. Here is what Rush Limbaugh said on his radio program on September 14,2009:

“But a third party is not going to do anything other but ensure the reelection of Obama and every other Democrat running for office.”

Does anyone dispute Rush’s wisdome here? Really?
