Look at her 1) voting record 2) positions in this race and 3) husband. The administration set this all up when the sitting Congressman was named to a relatively unimportant post; either way they'd get a Democrat. If she jumped ship the drive-by media would have a field day with how the poor little thing (metaphorically, not literally, for sure) just had to "stay where she was" by becoming a Dem, because the Republican Party had "left her." If she didn't jump we'd be endlessly tormented by stories about how this new "maverick" shows the GOP where its future is by voting in lockstep with the Evil Party. In some ways, if Owens had won via the split, the White House would actually get the least attractive option -- just one more Dim vote in the House but no Sturm und Drang from the collaborationist press about the "schism" in the GOP.

Let's hope and pray they get a citizen legislator who makes a lot of righteous noise instead.

Thanks for this post. It fills in a lot of areas where Obama's behavior has been difficult to understand.

The Cambridge police episode comes to mind: where his comments about the police acting "stupidly" and the subsequent 'beer' summit did nothing to heal race relations, but aggravated them.

This 'tinkering' in areas where he has no business can only lead to trouble. This idiot reminds me of someone who, for whatever reason, gets a kick out of arranging a meeting between, say, a guy with a can of gasoline and a guy with a match. In my day, a punk like this got his teeth smashed in 'cause nobody likes a punk.

I think we know what Obama is about.But its more than just serendipidous. Obama follows a course designed to instill fear in people, fear that at any time the lightning bolt from on high may invade your life if you do not forsee the politically correct Obama thing to do or say, instead of say, the morally right,lawful or patriotic thing.

Fiddling with the Cambridge police, with the CIA ( prosecuting "torturers"), are both cases in point , the rule of fear.

Obama’s tinkering may convince middle of the road Republicans that conservatives are the way to go, and that RINO’s are not worth the (R) after their name. What Dede ended up doing is strengthen the hand of conservatives in their battle for the soul of the Republican party. She just proved that the word RINO TRULY means Republican In Name Only. No more will liberals be able to pull the wool over Republicans’ eyes by calling themselves Republican.

0bama is investing an awful lot of himself in these races. His ego is so big that he thinks he can make a big difference. Think again. He put a lot (converted all his offices to Martin offices, sent in volunteers from other states, sent in Bill Clinton, Al Gore, etc., and recorded radio ads and robocalls) into the runoff in Georgia last Dec, and Martin lost to Chambliss by 15 points. His efforts in NJ have failed to move Corzine’s numbers up not a single point, and in fact, may have caused them to decline. He campaigned hard for Deeds in VA, and now has thrown him under the bus. In NY23 0bama headed a $30,000 a plate fundraiser in NYC for Owens, has mobilized ACORN volunteers in other states to work there, the DNC has lavishly funded 0wens, and Biden was sent to the district.

If 0bama loses 2 out of 3 or even 3 out of 3, this will be huge, but the MSM will spin it that it was only about state or local issues, not 0bama. That may be true in some respects, but the fact that 0bama can’t get out the vote for other candidates unless he’s on the ticket personally, will make dems in congress more reluctant to do his bidding, which will be a good thing.

It really shouldn't surprise anyone that he'd take this route.

Given his background and mentors the only thing available to him as he reaches into his bag of tricks would reflect a dictatorial intolerance (trademark of the Left) often seen in places like Africa (north and south).

While a birth certificate would be nice, it doesn't change the pedigree of Leftism inherent in his actions anymore than a certificate from the American Kennel Club insures that a dog isn't infected with rabies.

I guess you could say he picked the wrong country to try and bully into submission the way it's been done in places like Venezuela. Sure, we have poor people, but they're American poor people with an opportunity to lift themselves up. Some might even call that 'Hope'- the missing ingredient in third-world hell-holes where dictators flourish.

And when opportunity ceases to exist (and hope dies with it) the people are ripe for messages containing the word 'hope', where it's meaning has been bastardized into "that which the government can do for you while sticking it to someone else".

The question then becomes: Has Obama destroyed (enough) 'opportunity' yet to put us on course with the likes of Chavez and Co.? The danger isn't so much what he reads from his teleprompter, but what he and his wrecking crew may do to the economy.

The economic factor is what puts the fear on people.Half of us do not now have a self help, can do attitude to life, the vestigial gift from our frontier ancestors.Sarah Palin has that in spades, and that more than anything else scares the hell out of the dependent tally whacker leftists.

Can Sarah convice America that we can self help ourselves while helping each other as we have done in every previous economic crfisis in this country?

I am retired, lawfully moved all my savings and investments off shore to a secure banking system. I really don't worry much about economy. I worry about our freedom, and those idiots who would trade it for a bag of sugar, just as you say.
