Gingrich 'Deeply Upset' That Scozzafava Endorsed Democrat After He'd Supported Her (ROFL)
TPM ^ | 11/2/09 | Eric Kleefeld

Posted on 11/02/2009 1:36:39 PM PST by pissant

Newt Gingrich, who had previously endorsed moderate Republican Dede Scozzafava in the NY-23 special election, now says he is "deeply upset" about her endorsement of Democrat Bill Owens after she withdrew from the race.

"How could she have accepted all that support?" said Gingrich, also adding: "I'm very, very let down because she told everybody she was a Republican, and she said she was a loyal Republican."

Gingrich had caught a lot of criticism on the right for supporting Scozzafava, and arguing that the Republican Party needs to have room for moderates. Now that Scozzafava has quit the race and endorsed the Democrat, due to campaign by the right to push her out in favor of Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, Gingrich will certainly have to work hard to undo the damage from his having bet on the wrong horse.

"He's no fool. Newt knew who she was. He's just mad he got caught. "

Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner!

Old Newt rode the clown car up to New York and fell off.

“Where’s my red nose?” he shouts. Why, it’s stuck up some RINO’s butt, Newt.

Can Newt save his shattered marriage with conservatives? We wonder... Will he do 40 days of teary penance at Reagan’s graveside to show contrived contrition? Will he find a cuter RINO honey at the next office Christmas party? And just how many turned coats does Newt own? Tune in next week for another exciting episode of “As the Worm Turns.”

All that can be done is laugh at them. We told them and they wouldn’t listen.

The evidence of which way the wind is blowing is so clear. Yet here in FL they still pee into it by punishing party folk for supporting Rubio and steering them toward RINO Crist.

I so hope that after this mini election cycle the GOP understands WTF is going on and embraces the Conservative revolution. I agree with Rush that 3rd parties are never going to work. But I do wonder with what we need to hit people over the heads to get their attention.

What is wrong with Newt? He was the man in 1994. I used to enjoy listening to hiim speak because he was a conservative at the time.

So what will happen to his mental state when he finally realizes that Global Warming is a scam?
You mean his great pals Al and Nancy lied to him? NO! Can't be!

And after he fawned all over them!

Even intelligent and thoughtful people can be seduced into the shoals by the siren song of Progressivism. I would not have believed in 1994 that Newt Gingrich would eventually become a victim, but it is apparently the fate of all those who crave the acceptance of Washington’s Progressive elite to willfully submit to a kind of pragmatic somnambulism. By the time they awaken, it is too late and whatever freedom in which they once believed lies sacrificed upon the rocks of expedient “moderation”.

It looks like all Newt’s time as a politician has made him a poor judge of character.

Gingrich, also adding: “I’m very, very let down because she told everybody she was a Republican, and she said she was a loyal Republican.”

Translation: I have incredibly poor judgement and am obviously unqualified for any leadership position anywhere except maybe in the DNC.

Once she was selected, he had a tough choice:”

What is tough about it?
Seems like a very easy choice to me.
# 1. Support the conservative candidate
Or
# 2.Support an ACORN backing, card check backing, abortion backing, gay marriage backing, porkulus backing, 0bamacare backing(and that's just for starters), fat woman, who had earlier on gone to the Democrats to plead with them to nominate her for this very seat for their party, and had only came to the Republicans, after the even the bottom feeding Democrats had rejected because of her tax problems. I am surprised Newt Gingrich is surprised she switched. Heck she tried ti switch even before she was nominated.

Support someone who disagrees with him on every important issue, or weaken the party “

That is not even a correct analogy.
By backing strong conservative candidates like Hoffman, we strengthen the Republiacan Party, not weaken it.
With the very survival of this country at stake, and American values under relentless onslaught from the rabid, America-hating, communist in the White House, this is no time to be talking “my party is right no matter what”.
It's not about the party right now. It's about what we stand for. Its about values. It's about standing for something, and not being an empty shell who stands for absolutely nothing, and has no values, like Gingrich seems to be. If he is going to accept hard line, left wing radicals like Scozzafava, then what is the difference between the Republican Party and the Dems then? NOTHING.

Newt gets more and more like McCain every day.

Tries to be liberal, spread the “big tent”, and then can’t understand why he gets no support from the Left or the Right. He has not a clue.

Newt, there’s something you’re lacking. It’s called principle. Long ago, you persuaded yourself that only losers have principle. Now look and see who’s a loser.
