You’re confusing Jim Ryan with Jack Ryan. The latter was Barack Obama’s original opponent in the 2004 Senate race until the Chicago Tribune and WLS-TV (conveniently) went to court, demanding that his divorce records be unsealed. Eventually, a Democratic judge agreed and we learned that his ex-wife, Jeri Ryan of “Star Trek” fame, claimed that he took her to sex clubs.
Again, that was Jack Ryan, not Jim Ryan the former Illinois Attorney General. Unfortunately, he shares the same last name with Jack and former Governor George Ryan, who was convicted on corruption charges. Jim Ryan is not related to either man, although he might consider a name change before he runs for governor.
