The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -13 (see trends).
Following release of the House health care plan by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 42% of voters now support the Congressional effort while 54% are opposed.
In October, 37.8% of American adults considered themselves to be Democrats while 31.9% are Republicans. The number of Democrats has been inching up steadily since July.
The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.
Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove. Its sometimes easy to get caught up in the day-to-day fluctuations of the tracking poll and miss the longer-term trend. Rasmussen Reports also compiles the data on a month-by-month basis which shows that the Presidents ratings slipped a bit in October after stabilizing in September.
Check out our review of last weeks key polls to see What They Told Us. Election Day is Tuesday and Republicans are likely to win back the Governors mansion in Virginia. The race in New Jersey is too close to call.
drellberg says: “Even as a conservative, I regret that we show on this board such glee at his failures, because it just isnt good for our country to have an empty suit in the White House. The US quickly becomes a laughingstock and door mat. Im not saying that I favor any of his proposals, but I am saying that the Putins and Ahmadinjads and Bin Ladens of the world prey upon his weakness to the detriment of everyone around the world.”

I understand and appreciate what you’re trying to say here. However, Obama is an Alinsky Marxist who is clearly out to destroy every tradition and institution that has made America great and in essence seeks to rebuild the country in his own radical image. Therefore, I view each of his failures to implement his radical agenda as a victory for liberty, capitalism, and the United States, to which I rejoice.
Now, I would love nothing more than to support Obama for standing up to our international enemies if he would ever do such a thing. Instead, he tries to make nice with them. Like you said, Obama is an empty suit, which makes him a tremendous danger to this country. Thus, a concerted effort must be made to neuter him and the damage he’s inflicting until we have a chance to throw him out at the ballot box in 2012.
no bounce from the phoney baloney, plastic banana, good-time rock-and-roll econ numbers they rolled out on Friday. Very good sign!
This could be a very damaging week for Obama at the polls. Between the real possibility of a Republican sweep of Tuesday’s major election races; a potentially damaging unemployment report later in the week that could officially hit 10%; an increasingly unpopular and fascist health care bill being forced into a House vote; and Obama’s continued waffling in Afghanistan even after the presidential race there has been decided, we may well see the Rasmussen numbers hit new approval lows and disapproval highs by the weekend.
Buckeye McFrog says: “no bounce from the phoney baloney, plastic banana, good-time rock-and-roll econ numbers they rolled out on Friday. Very good sign!”
There was certainly no bounce in Rasmussen’s job approval poll of likely voters, which is very good to see. However, Gallup’s approval poll of adults predictably shot up from 51% to 55% as soon as that bogus GDP report was released. To me, it indicates the gullible masses continue to soak up much of the spin the administration and drive-by media spoon-feeds them, while likely voters are much more likely to see through the B.S.
MAY be starting to drop here and get out of the range he has been in for a long time.
We’ll see.
“But yes, I know there are a lot that truly do want this country to fail and will continue to enable the Marxist.”
Watch the MSM start saying those who are voting disapproval of Zer0 want the POTUS to fail, hence they must be unpatriotic.
Right now, the libs have nowhere to hide as the ONE they propped up is a dismal failure and is basically a child.
Like when the Obamacare goes down to defeat, they will pull out all stops blaming Americans for not recognizing good things and not going along with what is good for them.
The thing is, right now is almost an eternity away from next November. So much can change, and if the economy starts getting better because it just naturally has to at some point, well.....Obama will bring some good coattails for the Dems and screw up a GOP regain.
Oh, please, please from your lips to God’s ears. Let it be so. All of it.
Their parents should stop paying the freight for these young Marxists. Having to pay their own way may teach them more than their Leftist poli sci professor does.
Not in south Florida. I drove by a cultist today with a GIANT circular "Obama" face on the back windshield of an SUV. Pathetic.
As I drove past, I slowed down just enough for the worshiper to see my anti-Hussein sticker.
DestroyLiberalism, We don’t truly disagree.
I will say, though, that I see this world devolving into chaos over these next few years. Israel will attack Iran, I am sure of it. Iran will respond, and in a big way. They want Armageddon and they are preparing for it.
I want to see Obama’s policies fall short just as much as the next guy. But I worry that he will have so little domestic and international credibility when the time comes for him to stand up and be counted that it won’t matter, and that the world will face grave damage. Maybe your assumption is that he won’t stand up in any event; but I think that when the chips are down even the Dems will rise to the occasion. But with Obama as President, to little avail.
I guess all that I’m saying is that his dramatically demonstrated incompetence is truly a mixed blessing.
