Still bashing Bush (Hot Button Column)
Washington Times ^ | 11/2/2009 | Amanda Carpenter

Just as they did in the 2008 elections, Democrats running in the top 2009 elections in New Jersey, New York and Virginia have sought to tie their Republican or conservative opponent to former President George W. Bush. Here's a sampling of the attacks:

"Voters have a clear choice on Tuesday: They can elect to go back to the George Bush economic agenda, or they can vote to move forward," read a statement released Saturday by Democrat Bill Owens, who is opposing Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman for New York's 23rd Congressional District seat.

"What can you expect from Chris Christie? A governor who'll repeat the failed Bush economics," says the narrator in an October advertisement by New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, an incumbent Democrat, against Mr. Christie, his Republican challenger.

"In fact, nearly 300,000 Virginians are out of work, and there have been 110,000 foreclosures in Virginia since the beginning of the Bush Recession. Bob McDonnell may be telling Virginians that Bush represents 'the kind of governor I am going to be,' but the failures of the Bush economic policies are results that Virginians don't want," says the narrator in an August ad for Democrat R. Creigh Deeds, who is running against Republican Robert F. McDonnell in Virginia's gubernatorial race.

I think bashing Bush is starting to remind people we had it better under Bush than lying Obama.

umm, wasn’t the “Bush economic agenda” a 6-8% unemployed rate and a $400 Billion deficit?

"Voters have a clear choice on Tuesday: They can elect to go back to the George Bush economic agenda, or they can vote to move forward,"

Definitely don't wanna go back to the 4.5 - 5% unemployment rate.

Bush hasn’t been on a ballot since 2006. He isn’t involved in this election and the Dems will lose by demonizing him this time around.

The Bush years Billions wasted.

The Obama 9 months Trillions wasted.

I choose Bush.

I’m really, really hoping the Dems continue this strategy next year as well.

Conservative women have not battered themselves in shamefully seared consciences.

Our ladies (you say “chicks”) are still ladies. The leftist females don’t know what they are.

We see the same thing among women who want power in China. When you come across female political types . . . look out! They have been to their husband’s barber and taylor, and look as though they have been through sleep-deprivation torture. Mean as a snake.

"Democrats running in the top 2009 elections in New Jersey, New York and Virginia have sought to tie their Republican or conservative opponent to former President George W. Bush. "

This is why Republican Presidents and Leaders can no longer allow the left to vilify them and then just expect that "History" will judge them fairly. By George W. Bush not standing up for his beliefs and policies, he sentences all of us to ridicule.

Yep, and Bush hasn't run for anything since 2004. The democrats have finally lost their way. Bush is winning win after all.

President Bush’ economic policies brought prosperity to America, it was after the democrats took over congress that our economy went to hell.

You see, the evil Bush/Cheney team left booby traps to hamper the socialists attempts to reset the economy. It’s never their fault. But the proof is out there. The dimrats are loyal to their party first and everything comes secondary at best. They are just showing us who they are.

George W. Bush, the president who would not fight back against enemies domestic.

For years there were unending stories of families in economic hardship everyday in liberal newspapers and the network nightly news. They were promoting economic failure to enhance a liberal victory in 2008!

Bush came into office with an economy that was slowing and heading toward recession, then the attacks of 9-11-01. Bush’s tax cuts and economic policies helped spur 50 consecutive months of economic growth, more than 8 million new jobs, real GDP grew by more than 17 percent and after-tax per-capita income increased by 12 percent.

Bush stuck with his new tone and would not attack his critics.

Not only were they promoting economic failure they were also promoting military failure.

When will we start treating this nation’s enemies as enemies?

Please give me the definition of the word “Treason.”

You beat me to it - that’s exactly what I feel....this constant Bush-bashing is wearing really thin on people now - heck I’ve even seen some in the MSM say it’s time to bury that line, that it’s almost a year since Bush was the leader of the free world (my words, not the MSM since they would NEVER use any kind of respectful term to be in the same sentence with “Bush”). People are getting really sick of hearing “Bush’s fault” on a daily basis from these bozos! JMHO

The Democrats gained the majority of both houses of Congress in 2006. They inherited nothing, the Democrats have held power since 2006.

"I think bashing Bush is starting to remind people we had it better under Bush than lying Obama."

Exactly! People remember 4% unemployment, strong GDP growth, and lower taxes under Bush. The 10% unemployment is now hanging around the necks of the Democrats.

More like 4%-5% unemployment under Bush with an average deficit of about $200 billion.
