Dede Scozzafava proves her detractors right!

It is being reported today that Dede Scozzafava is endorsing Democrat Bill Owens. In one fell swoop she proved her detractors right. Her actions also speak to the Republicans that made excuses for her such as Newt Gingrich; they were dead wrong. When Dede withdrew from the race on Saturday, many (including me) thought she was doing the right thing for Northern New York, and the Republican Party. Instead we have been presented with the quintessential example of what the label RINO means.
"Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. The move was expected to consolidate GOP voters behind Hoffman on Tuesday.
But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement sent out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee."
When the DNC is releasing statements for the former GOP candidate you know something is very wrong. This is a wake up call for the leaders of the Grand Old Party. The party got its hat handed to it in the last election by running the most "moderate" candidate in decades why do they continue in the same vein that didn't work last time?

She’s a Democrat.
The people behind her are too arrogant, and too locked in their world-view, to realize that their support wasn’t what their media was telling them it was. A little push-back from the real world, and the bubble popped. Only problem for them is it popped too soon, and now anyone can see how we were conned.
Will NJ voters see it too?

The leadership. The leadership chooses what they like. They like Lefties, because they are Lefties.
Expose the RINO’s for the Leftist insurgents they are. Get the RINO’s the HELL out of the Republican Party, especially the leadership. Get rid of the “mavericks”.

Will NJ voters see it too?How will NJ newspapers and TV stations report it?
Will they state the facts or will they spin it as " a bold move made by a maverick Republican"?

There are many great comments in the comment section after this article.
Here's a good example:

The RINO's instincts are almost always wrong. To the extent we listen to the Republican Party leadership, we will continue to lose. IT IS NOT COMPLICATED. Do what is best for the country and you don't need to listen to leadership.
Stan G is absolutely right.
It's not complicated.

Of course the media will lie and spin. But will YOU do what you can to get the TRUTH to your friends and relatives in NJ?
And if you don’t have any, plenty do. Like me. I’m working on it.

"This is a wake up call for the leaders of the Grand Old Party." Y'think? LOL
OK, so what's a right-wing person to do when the *leaders* {spit} don't & won't wake up?
Only asking because, that's precisely where it's at right now.

I ran across the link to the paragraph below in the earlier thread.
After reading the paragraph, no one should be surprised that Scozzafava endorsed her Dem opposition.
Gingrich is the one who should have some serious explaining to do.
Interesting paragraph from that tcotreport.com link:
Reports of Scozzafava's recent statements on switching parties didn't help public perceptions of her either. Something happened on a vote, the report goes, and she got mad, publicly threatening to switch from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party. Scozzafava quickly retracted her party switch threat, but the damage was done. Rumors abound that should she win the special election as a Republican she might switch to the Democratic party in the 2010 election, especially since she is certain to face Republican primary opposition should she win. Last week, the Weekly Standard ran a story which stated that she would not confirm she would run in 2010 as a Republican. Hours after the story was posted, her campaign spokesman stated that she would, indeed run as a Republican in 2010 should she win, but the candidate herself has not yet made such a public statement.
She doesn't sound all that different that the GOP's 2008 'standard bearer' John "I wanna be a Dem" McCain who
- (1) Considered jumping parties in 2000,
- (2) Wanted to be the VP on John Kerry's Democratic ticket in 2004, and
- (3) Really wanted his good Democrat-Independent friend Lieberman as his VP in 2008.
==
It is amazing how the Dems manage to get choice candidates on BOTH tickets.

"simple solution....do not vote for a lib or dem lite under any circumstances....vote your consience and you will never go wrong" Thanks, joe. You're correct. I'll be seriously considering a no vote as my vote. But old habits are hard to break, y'know?
Particularly difficult for those hardwired a certain way.

They keep doing the same thing, but expect a different result.
Look how many of the 'big honchos' in the GOP were initially for Scozzafava. And many of those same GOP honchos still advocate big-tent-ism and being more Dem-like.

Beck’s “progressive” argument works pretty well re. the NY 23rd situation.

The leadership. The leadership chooses what they like. They like Lefties, because they are Lefties. This is a well-thought strategy from Obama. Appoint McHugh, open the seat and run two liberals who will support his agenda.
