Secretary of State Takes On a Complicated Mission in the Mideast as Obama's 'Engagement' Diplomacy Comes Under Pressure

MARRAKESH, Morocco -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton used a diplomatic swing across the greater Middle East to reassert her role in foreign policy even as the trip exposed the strategic challenges facing the Obama administration's overseas agenda.

Mrs. Clinton, during her first 10 months atop the State Department, has appeared at times a marginal player on a national-security team dominated by special diplomatic envoys and President Barack Obama himself.

Foreign governments have questioned what role Mrs. Clinton was playing in formulating strategy on pressing international issues like Iran, Afghanistan and the Arab-Israeli conflict. The White House has often dominated the State Department in the internal-policy debate, according to officials taking part in the process.

Over the past week, however, the secretary of state's visits to Pakistan, the Persian Gulf and Israel inserted her on the front lines of a seemingly worsening security environment in the regions.

On issues such as global terrorism and Iran's nuclear program, the former first lady emerged as among the most hawkish members of Mr. Obama's cabinet. She took the rare step in Pakistan of publicly calling out Islamabad's military for its failure to capture al Qaeda leaders believed to be hiding in the country's tribal regions.

Now diplomats are gauging whether Mrs. Clinton's profile will continue to rise at a time when Mr. Obama's policy of using diplomatic engagement to address the world's starkest security challenges is coming under pressure.

Over the weekend, Mrs. Clinton endured a tough early round in her efforts to directly advance the Arab-Israeli peace process. She shuttled from the United Arab Emirates to Israel and on to Morocco in a two-day campaign.....

Just what the F*&%k was this bimbo thinking when she gave up a safe Senate seat to work for the affirmative action figure? She could be gearing up for a run in 2012 ala Kennedy/Carter. But, noooooo... she's running around the Middle East in a babushka trying to get 1 billion Muslims to like us...

They've got her doing the "great statesman" routine, with the help of the media. I noticed they've pulled Kerry off the back bench for the same routine. By coincidence, they're both recycled presidential candidates.

I've been wondering if they're in the on-deck circle, just in case The One's poll numbers continue to dive. Wouldn't it be a hoot if they both ran against him in the 2012 primary? The One could play the race card against them.

One big old, tired, monotonous, recycled, incestuous bunch.

From article: "... the former first lady emerged as among the most hawkish members of Mr. Obama's cabinet."

She's big on perception (about herself), and lookee here, she's creating a perception - but only a perception. Because while she's pretending to be "hawkish," she's actually deliberately insulting people and thereby destroying negotiation possibilities, which then enables our enemies to proceed without having to deal with negotiation problems.

She can accomplish both of these things at once because she's not chewing gum on this trip.

Yes, to stay away from her husband and looking out for number one (HER). She will stab anyone in the back who gets in her way. Obama better not cross her or she will make him look like a bigger idiot than he already does.

LOL...

Well we know she is one of the smartest lawyers...we've been told that by the Main Stream Media for years....

So we will take that as a basic premise....

And building on that we know smart people always have a plan....

We've been taught that....

Therefore ...she must have a Plan....and we can see it seems to be somewhat different than appeasing anyone...

UHHHH....my reasoning doesn't carry me much beyond that point however...

Wonder what she is up too?
