A SUPRISE Halloween treat for NY23.

At the UCONN game but wanted to bring your attention to Dede Scozzafava dropping out of the race in New York’s 23rd District. The RINO’s withdrawal might leave room for Doug Hoffman to step in as the conservative independent who will no longer be branded a third party spoiler destroying chances for Republicans.

Hat tip to Gateway Pundit, but many other bloggers are now up and tracking including Jim Geraghty, Pamela Gellar, Power Line, Sweetness & Light, Hot Air and Michelle Malkin.

Hot Air was speculating 18 hours ago. As the folks at Red State point out, while this is good for conservatives, it’s not for Republicans. And like it or not, this is a TWO party system.

If that is true, that’s a good move and a wise decision. Last I saw she was in the third spot in the polls???

Great news! I can't wait to see what Newt Gingrich has to say about his choosing the RINO instead of the conservative in this important race. This should be good.

Go, Doug!

Now that Newt is radioactive, we need to make clear that any RINO attempts to resuscitate him will make them vulnerable to contagion.

Simple solution. The local Republican committee should replace Scozzafava with Hoffman as the Republican candidate. Then it’s a two-party race.

NJ did this in 2002 when the Dems tossed Torricelli off the ballot and replaced him with Lautenberg. The NJ Supreme Court affirmed this last-minute change on 10/2/02.

What I like about Newt is that he is outspoken and fiery. Bad decision to support Scozzafava; perhaps he was wanting to NOT have a third party problem?

I still like him, though. Fire in the belly — it is a rare commodity among Republicans, unfortunately.

From my email from Hoffman camp:

“And now the race for the 23rd congressional district truly becomes a two way race between a Nancy Pelosi democrat and a principled Conservative Republican. We cannot take victory for granted under any circumstance. Pelosi and comrades are poised to spend a fortune to win this seat. They are even airlifting in Joe Biden on Monday. We must continue to fight as if life as we know it depends on it, because it does!

Updates:
· Country Superstar John Rich will give be in WATERTOWN, MONDAY, to play at a Get-Out-The-Vote Rally for Congressional Candidate DOUG HOFFMAN. Concert will start at 6:30 pm at the Jefferson County Agricultural Society Exhibition Hall, 615 W. T. Fields Drive, Watertown, NY 13601.”

Two problems:

What the NJ Supreme Court did is irrelevant in New York.

Also, Democrats can do anything they want; Republicans have to obey the law.

As Lord Monckton has been pointing out, the global warming hoax is OVER, now that Lindzen’s data are published.

That leaves Newt out in the cold with his global warming gullibility.

Newt was bought.

There are no “bad decisions” or “does not get it” people here.

How much less should it be for our conservative leaders.

He said he was glad Colon Powell, who publicly endorsed Obama, is a Republican.

He chastized Rush for wanting the Marxist to fail in implementing his Marxism.

He has repeatedly teamed up with Demorats to support socialism.

He endorsed a candidate who was more liberal than the Democrat candidate and endorsed by the Daily Kos.

And you still like him? You are part of the problem.
