What happened to the promise of anyone making less than 250k.......oh,forget it.
Don’t be deceived. They get it but don’t care — they have the power to take whatever they want and the public will deliver it—they know this fact very well.
That would be an excellent opening to place the state under Federal control.
Apparently Time wants to say that other states aren't far behind, and eventually they will become much worse. Which is possible, considering that CA still has some modern engineering going on.
That would be an excellent opening to place the state under Federal control.
Here we go again.
John and Ken Tax Revolt 2009 “Heads on a Stick”

Y’all have a recall process, no? I’d fire the whole lot of them. This is absurd. Fire them.
That would be an excellent opening to place the state under Federal control.
There would be a freeze on layoffs, salary decreases or furloughs and there would be a tax increase on all private sector employees and fines on private business who refuse to increase their payrolls.
Hollywood and other ‘too vital to fail’ industries would be exempt as would all businesses in Democratic districts.
This would be a fun story to make up as we go along.
“They say it isn’t a tax increase, it’s just an interest free loan that we will recover in April when we file our taxes.”
I wonder if the April refunds will be in the form of state vouchers that banks won’t cash and won’t be accepted in payment of debts owed to the state.
Governor says stimulus is working in California
Appearing alongside Vice President Joe Biden and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, Schwarzenegger said the stimulus plan is working in the Golden State, which was hit as hard as anywhere in the nation by the economic recession.
“It has been very welcome for California,” Schwarzenegger said.

Just asking.
The following Republicans voted for the budget package, although the actual vote is regarded as a charade by many, used as a devise to cover the rears of the rest of the Republican miscreants who would have had more to lose in their districts than the designated turncoats:
Republican Assemblymen Mike Villines, Fresno; Roger Niello, Sacramento; and Anthony Adams, Claremont.
Republican Senators Dave Cogdill, Fresno; Roy Ashburn, Bakersfield; and Abel Maldonado, Monterey.
Claim 10 exemptions, send them a letter and tell them to go p*ss up a rope.
Change your withholding to say, 20 dependents.
Anthony Adams, Claremont.
This phony also voted to increase the car tax after saying he wouldn’t. There was a recall effort with the petitions going around on him, but haven’t heard the status of this. In the meantime, Adams sends his monthly updates and avoids these topics. No decent response to this either—just a boilerplate letter.
Its not 10% of your paycheck, its a 10% increase in witholding i.e. from 6% to 6.6%.
Still it stinks, especially given that it may be difficult if not impossible to get it returned next spring when they claim deficit again.
One has to ask ones self as a resident of California, who is in charge?
I thought so...
