socialist-hollering, Glenn Beck-worshiping, tea party wing nuts
tea party lunatics
tea party nut jobs
right-wing fringe
tea party nut jobs (he must really like that one)
tea party nutcases (see what I mean?!)

I wonder if carville honestly believes that this is a useful tactic? My neighbors look at me and see a guy who takes care of his family, tends to his property, flies the American flag, and generally treats folks with the same respect that he demands for himself.

I look at my neighbors and largely see the same things. Some are outwardly Republicans, some obvious Democrats, many others you just can’t tell. There’s not a one of them that I can imagine being moved by an acid-tongued screed like this.

The Democrats that I interact with have, for the most part, gone quiet. This isn’t what they signed up for and a lot of them are overwhelmed. They truly believed the hype, ignored the warnings, and now suffer from “buyers remorse”.

They’ve seen pictures of the Vietnam protests, the Chicago, Watts, and LA riots, seen the WTO protests, and the relentless anti-Bush protests. They also remember MLK’s march on Washington, and more recently the Tea Party Protests culminating with the 912 March on Washington. They recognize the difference between civil protest and anarchy.

I would submit that carville & crew may pick up a few dollars from the hardcore left, but by & large this is going to be another dhimmi flop.

They are basically hoping to raise $133K from the general public by Tuesday night (after the polls close) so who will these funds help? If the information were available publicly, it’d be a good measure of public support to know how many donors they got and the average amount. And the zip codes of the donors. That information would provide an excellent view of Obama’s true support.

I have to wonder, if that slimy sack of feces is finally standing on a pickup truck tailgate, with a rope around his neck, whether it would occur to him that name calling was perhaps an error...

Excerpt from an email from Joe Biden on the Organizing for America website. Note how the cult of personality is used: Barack, Barack, Barack. Did Vice President Cheney ever refer to ‘George’ from 2001 to 2009? I don’t believe so:

“When I talk about you changing the rules in Washington, here’s what I mean: This week, crucial negotiations on Capitol Hill are shaping a comprehensive reform proposal. At the same time, the insurance companies’ phony reports are grabbing headlines and their lobbyists are twisting arms. But your work is keeping them from setting us back.

“On Tuesday, OFA supporters around the country organized more than 1,000 local outreach events and generated an astounding 330,000 calls to Congress from constituents telling their representatives that “it’s time to deliver.” From my years in Congress and my conversations with Senate colleagues this week, I can tell you with confidence that your message broke through and you helped keep us on track.

“If this fight were only about guaranteeing the choice of secure, quality, affordable care for every American, it would be worth everything we could throw at it. But as Barack reminded us this week, this fight for change is now about something even bigger: a test of whether or not “we as a nation are capable of tackling our toughest challenges, if we can serve the national interest despite the unrelenting efforts of the special interests; if we can still do big things in America.”

“I believe we can. And Barack believes we can. But what really matters is whether you believe we can. If you do, now is the moment to make it happen. Please contribute today:”
