Perry's Secret Jerusalem Trip Raises Questions
BCBS11 TV ^ | October 29, 2009 | Bennett Cunningham

The city of Jerusalem is one of the oldest cities in the world and it has a new defender: Texas Governor Rick Perry.

TOPICS: Government
KEYWORDS: governorperry; soros; texas
This caught my interest because of the length of time they spent detailing this trip. I notice quotes in here from Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas. Here is the quote from their leader Keith Elkins: "This Governor operates under the premise of 'believe what I say, not what I do.'" While Elkins suggests, "There is something else going on here," he doesn't know what that 'something' is.

Sounds kind of sinister to me. These folks have taken big time donations form A H Belo in the past so I 'm curious as to what their agenda might be.

Another reference was to Center for Responsive Politics. Their leader, Sheila Krumholz, said: "There is just too much of a potential for a conflict of interest with these trips particularly with privately sponsored trips." Krumholz also wonders, "Is this the real deal or a sleight of hand to provide political cover of those attending?"

This one is easy. After a little research into their funding, the name Soros popped up. Gee, where have I heard that name before? It appears to me that Chicago style politics has come to the Texas Governors race.

Soros, great :(

Israel does have the biggest natural gas deposits under her so yes, she and Texas have shared interests.

Sometimes a trip is just a trip. Seems a stretch that Soros would be involved with Perry.. KBH on the other hand..

Maybe Perry just wanted to visit Jerusalem.

Maybe Perry wanted recognition for an independant Texas.

Seems a little early for these hit pieces to begin hitting the media as the primary isn't until Mar. 2, 2010. That said the fact it comes out of Dallas may provide a slight hint.

Here's another story from 10-29-09 in the Beaumont Enterprise but the story has been played in other media in the past month or so.

Perry should release report to prove guilt in execution

By ENTERPRISE OPINIONS

October, 29, 2009

Gov. Rick Perry is stubbornly refusing to release a clemency report about the execution of convicted arsonist Cameron Willingham. Yet Perry's own words prove there is no practical or logical reason for keeping this important information from the public.

The Houston Chronicle and Hearst Newspapers, which owns The Enterprise, are suing Perry to get the report made public. He received it the morning of Willingham's execution. Perry insists that the report contains nothing that is not already in the public record.

Fine. Then release the report to prove it - even if he doesn't have to by law. As long as the document remains locked up, some Texans will wonder if the report was properly done and gave the governor all the information he needed.

Perry and other public officials who say they saw no evidence that would have cleared Willingham should not be defensive. If they want Texans to believe them, they will release any information which will prove that the man who was executed was indeed guilty.

A fairly transparent hit piece of Rick Perry by what appear to be a couple of moonbat operations and given the Good Housekeeping Seal((cough)) by none other than a cbs affiliate. I get it...

And then you apparently took it upon yourself to make a convoluted AND inaccurate connection between one of the moonbat operators critical of Perry, by tying them to Perry!

Would you be kind enough to explain the point of your post?

In other words it quotes a lot of leftist groups criticizing a GOP governor.

I’m still not sure what they think Perry is gonna do about an execution. We have a weak-Governor system on purpose.

The execution is long over. And in Texas, the governor can grant clemency. Perry refused and would not stay the execution.

I think the questions about the case are politically motivated.

He was submitted a clemency report from the Board of Pardons. Who knows what the Board recommended to the Governor. That is what the suit is trying to find out. And the Governor can act with a recommendation from the Board.

Please explain what moonbat operator the convoluted and inaccurate connection was made to. Also, please use clearer English.

If you look at the website for Center for Responsive Politics funders, one is Open Society Institute & Soros Foundations Network.

They no longer stop campaigning at any time, therefore they no longer stop smearing either. They are relentless and we had better be too!
