Diplomacy: The restoration of a president with dictatorial dreams in Honduras is being touted by the administration as a triumph of "dialogue." In truth, it's just old-fashioned yanqui interventionism.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton hailed Thursday night's agreement in Tegucigalpa as "a restoration of the constitutional order," and praised it highly.
"I cannot think of another example of a country in Latin America that, having suffered a rupture of its democratic and constitutional order, overcame such a crisis through negotiation and dialogue."
What worked here, though, wasn't dialogue, but U.S. diplomatic muscle. A last-minute mission from Assistant Secretary of State Tom Shannon, National Security Council representative for Western Hemisphere affairs Dan Restrepo and Shannon's deputy Craig Kelly somehow persuaded both the government of Roberto Micheletti and ousted President Mel Zelaya to sign an accord restoring Zelaya and to ensure that Nov. 29 elections be recognized.

The reverse of Reagan...he freed countries from communism, we enslave countries into communism.
Unbelievable. It’s like all of the radical Leftists from the ‘60’s are taking over.

Chavez’s goons (Hillary, Obama and Carter) will make sure there is no election. This guy will be president for life. Obama will be pleased to see how easily a Constitution is Thwarted.
Unspeakably wrong.
I suspect it will not last.
“a restoration of the constitutional order,”
Cheap Democratic politico Clinton lying again.
They already had an election! Their Constitution allows for term limits. The incumbent should go away quietly.
Our government is helping the ex-incumbent get back in office? Total utter crap!
Honduras ping
“Shame and eternal shame, nothing but shame!”
It's a chorus of red frogs. PBS Now host David Brancaccio, a card-carrying Lefty, was subbing for Daljit Dhaliwal on ITV/PBS's Worldfocus late-nite international news program.
Brancaccio had on a left-wing NGO's duckspeaker to talk about Honduras, and both of them repeated several times the Red lie about the Honduran supreme court and legislature having launched a "coup d'etat" (both of them very carefully used this term), and both of them slanted the story toward would-be caudillo Zelaya, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, and the Obama Party Line.
It was pure lying prolefeed for the ignorant.
Jimmy Carter hands Iran over to the radical Islamists and Barak Obama hands Honduras over to the Marxists. What’s next? American embassy stormed in Tegucigalpa. Captives held for 444 days.
