Levi Johnston 'To Take Sarah Palin To Court' Over Child Custody
The teenager who fathered Sarah Palin's 10-month-old grandson has delivered a fresh blow to the former Republican vice presidential candidate by saying he will "definitely" take her to court to gain access to his child.

Levi Johnston, 19, who had a son called Tripp with Mrs Palin's eldest daughter Bristol, has been considering legal action for months but now says it is "inevitable" and that Mrs Palin is preventing him from seeing the boy. A court case over Tripp, during which Mr Johnston may make damaging allegations about Mrs Palin, could hamper any hopes she harbours of running for the White House in 2012.
"I'm up to the point where I can't see my kid again. I'm done. I'm sure we'll end up in court," Mr Johnston said in an interview with The Guardian today. "We're definitely going to court. They started letting me see him and everything was fine. But everything got bad again. So I said screw them. Bristol listens to her mom. Sarah says something, Bristol is going to follow."
Mr Johnston said there had been periods when he was able to see Tripp about once a week but at other times he has had almost no contact. He last saw his son several weeks ago, he said.
The public disclosure of Bristol's pregnancy during the 2008 US presidential election campaign came as an embarrassment to Mrs Palin's campaign. At the time Bristol was 17 and still at school.

Legal-eagle FReepers correct me if necessary, but it seems to me that it would be unlikely the Palins could prevail in such a case, since the fact that he says he overheard an argument between them theoretically can't be proven (or disproven) unless it was somehow recorded.

Can’t speak for all fifty states, but child support and visitation rights are mutually exclusive. And to stay off the radar for paying court ordered child support, one just has to hide their income well enough, make minimal effort to pay (which resets the “naughty” clock), be unemployed or work under the table...just to mention a few
I don’t know, don’t know if he uses drugs. Time will tell. If he associates with entertainment people he will, if he hasn’t already.

That is incorrect because although God “hates divorce” there are specific reasons that divorce is permitted in the scriptures, including if your spouse has deserted you, or if the spouse has committed adultery.

In many states, this is just dead wrong.
There is no linkage between visitation and child support.

This looks like a FAIL just waiting to happen.
Child support and visitation are not supposed to be tied. They almost always are but that’s not how it is supposed to work. One should be extremely careful about denying visitation to a deadbeat spouse without a lawyer’s advice (and IANAL).
And the headlines will make it look like he got bumped off.
It doesn’t matter where Levi is, what matters is where the child currently is. Boy is this guy about to get nailed by a good lawyer. Drug abuse, modeling, and threats against the Palins is going to look great in Court. Here is the bonus, J&D courts are private proceedings and no cameras or media is allowed.

It's too bad that Bristol didn't always listen to her mom. Maybe not though, because, contrary to what Obama believes, she was rewarded with a baby!
