I work at a scooter/bike shop in Key West, and I always acknowledge and support our Armed Forces. I give them a discount or sometimes it’s on the house (when permitted by the owner). The very least I can do to show some appreciation for what they go through and I thank them for their service. Each and every one of them. It makes all the difference that you ACKNOWLEDGE AND RESPECT the uniform of the United States Military. Some even say , gee thanks, surprised that I even said anything about their service, or that I took the time to thank them outright. Something is wrong with that. What’s wrong with people? What you do will long be remembered.

My husband still tells me about the time he was passing through a small town in the Midwest and he had his uniform on (in the late ‘50’s) and was having dinner in a restaurant. Some community club was meeting in a banquet room and when they spotted my husband they paid for his dinner. As a young man without much money he was very grateful and still remembers.

I know what you mean.

I bought lunch for a serviceman who was waiting standby for a flight home...he was shocked and said it had not happened before. I hope he is seeing our appreciation for all the troops.

I directed him to FR!

Whenever I am at a pub, bar or club and there are service men and women they are swamped with folks buying them drinks and saying thank you.

I saw at one place and a large number of USS Kennedy officers were having drinks. At the end of the night their entire bill was paid for by the regulars and everyone else.

They never even saw the bill! Just were told people appreciated their service and paid it.
