If he actually did change his mind, God bless him. I will not hold anything against a politician that finally sees the “light”.

Wow! It’s worth it to have a liberal R in there if we could have Boner leading the way. Since he’s shown such great leadership up till now.

You’re an Owens supporter, aren’t you?

You’re an Obama supporter, aren’t you?

Particularly, when bashing what seems to be a voice among conservatives?

I was kinda wondering the same thing. Looking at his prior posts shows he (or she) is really fired up against Hoffman, beyond what seems appropriate for a "don't split the party" type of argument.

When you pledge to do something immoral it is a good thing to go back on your word.

Why did Hoffman pledge do something immoral?

He thought it over and changed his mind. Deal with it.

This sounds like Alaska reporting. From an earlier article by same reporter.

Mr. Hoffman acknowledged his continued bid has rankled some Republicans. He said Wednesday, “I never promised that I would support Dede Scozzafava.”

“I did indicate that I would be happy to support a conservative Republican candidate, especially if it wasn't me,” he said. “It never occurred to me that the party would pick the only liberal in the race.”

Mr. Ellis said the nine hopefuls seeking the Republican nomination were asked as a group if they would support whichever candidate emerged as the nominee. He did not recall Mr. Hoffman being questioned individually

GOP leaders were outraged, especially since Mr. Hoffman, like other congressional hopefuls, had pledged to support the nominee. “He did say it repeatedly,” said Sandra Corey, the former GOP chairwoman of Jefferson County. “And then all of a sudden, it’s a no-go, like he hadn’t understood her background, which is a falsehood. I would never, ever trust him.”

So if he believed he's the better candidate, especially after knowing her record, he should have just stayed quiet?

Has Newt Gingrich ever lied?

My former conservative congressman said he wouldn’t run again. Thank God he saw what the marxists were doing and changed his mind.

Because he is an imperfect human being. Have you ever encountered one of those? There are a few around.

This election is the perfect time to let the GOP know it is time to quit giving us RINOs. Risking one more democrat in congress won't matter a hill of beans in this election but could send a powerful message to everyone, blue dogs, GOP golf clubers, and the damn marxists that use our RINOs against us. blue dog democrat

Again, what Hoffman has said and done, does not nor will not change the fact that Scuzz-ball is an Obozo-lovin’ left-winged liberal clown. That much is known.

Nice hit piece by the local paper. I especially like the non-partisan “Does this say anything about his character?” line at the end. Mr Hoffman sent a polite and supportive congratulations letter to Mrs S. The “journalist” interprets it as a sacred pledge of loyalty and uses it to impune the man’s character. Its idiotic but it must be the best you’ve got to bash him with. I won’t hold my breath for a similar piece pointing out the so called flaws of any other candidate in the race.

He did not recall Mr. Hoffman being questioned individually

He raised his hand in reply to the question addressed to the group of candidates, in a room with hundreds of witnesses. And then there's his written pledge.

She has no redeeming qualities as a candidate whatsoever. She is unable to answer the most basic question: “Do you intend to switch parties once elected?”

Scozzafava is a democrat trying to get into power using republican money and the republican election machine. Scozzafava is living a lie.

Jeffords. Specter. Chafee. Snowe. Collins.
We won’t get fooled again.
