I expect to see the more corrupt members of the Utah legislature try to ban Walmart’s coffin sales. Undertakers have an amazing amount of influence and have gotten a lot of laws passed to protect themselves. For example you have to buy a coffin for anyone you are cremating. Also, now Death Certificates are no longer issued by doctors but only by undertakers.

That’s a medical document, signed by the attending physician, certifying the proximate cause of death, with legal consequences depending upon the cause of death!
The undertakers only process dead human remains for burial. By what means do they determine how somebody died?
