Eight of the flat-screen TVs removed from a Minnesota sex offender treatment facility on Gov. Tim Pawlenty's orders will go to Minnesota National Guard facilities.
The state Department of Administration said Wednesday that Camp Ripley, near Brainerd, will get six of the 50-inch plasma televisions that prompted Pawlenty's ire last week. The Guard's Minneapolis and Duluth airbases will also each get one.
Pawlenty called for discipline for whoever authorized buying 26 TVs costing $1,500 each, plus $700 mounting brackets, for the Moose Lake sex offender facility. The Department of Human Services is investigating.
The governor previously announced that 14 TVs will wind up in state veterans homes.

Seriously though, I am from MN and since I don't get TV or buy any mainstream media rubbish, I had not heard about this until just reading it on FR (Thank God for Free Republic). I totally agree with you. I hope that someone's ass or asses get fired ASAP along with their supervisor or two, who would have approved this as well. 100 to 1, there were liberal retard demoRATs who are sunk deep in the bureaucrazy who would have approved this. So that’s one 2x3 pRon display for the men... and one 2x3 for the women... and one 2x3 display for the he-shes who haven’t exactly made up their mind.

They have a very large commons area where they placed these TV’s in order to help guarantee that the guards would know where most of them were at any given time.

Sheriff Joe in AZ had it right a long time ago about comparing facilities for ne’er do wells to the accomodations in the U.S. military.

Right....But the thing here is....these miscreants all have small TV’s in their cells. They can watch TV there. But, somebody who has the authority to spend this obscene amount of money decides that it’s worth it, as a babysitting service....
When this came out...Tim was NOT happy, in the least.
I understand that, and it looks as though he is well into holding people accountable which is a good thing, of course.
My point was that this isn’t so different from accommodations in facilities for wrongdoers all across the country.
