The Washington City Paper reports that the team's vendors were selling beer to patrons while they made use of the facilities last Sunday during their game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The report says a poster named Gracelander first complained about the washroom sales more than a year ago on the Redskins' official message board ExtremeSkins.com.
"[W]hat made me mad was when I went to the bathroom at the start of the 3rd quarter and this guy was in the BATHROOM selling beers to guys who waited for the urinals. I found this just wrong on so many accounts."
While Gracelander later noted on the message board that stadium management apologized for the behavior of the vendors, the user returned last Sunday and recorded video evidence of the overzealous sales tactics.
A spokesperson for the Redskins was unable to confirm if the vendor had been fired but the official told ABC's Washington affiliate that "appropriate action was taken."
The Redskins next play Monday night at home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
In theory, setting up shop in the washroom is a good way to kill two birds with one stone.
Who wouldn't want to buy a can while hitting the can? The particular vendor in the video was probably raking in the cash compared to his colleagues, who were not as creative (or, you know, have standards).
It also brings up a lot of questions as a vendor, would you try to get customers on the way in or the way out?
Good customer service would dictate selling on the way out, when someone is ready to fill up again. But then, selling on the way in means not having to wonder if your patron took the time to, uh, wash up before doing business with you.

I don’t see the issue. If you are that easily offended the what are you doing at an NFL game to begin with?
Sorry, don’t see any problem with this, unless the vendor is blocking my route to the urinal.
Why is he being punished for reading the market and accurately determining whereto sell his product?
Punish the successful?
As Archie Bunker said.... you can’t buy beer, you only rent it.
Actually it’s pretty smart as the vendor has an assembly of his target domographic.
Best place to see the Redskins play.
Archie Bunker said it best
“...You cant buy beer...you can only rent it...”
Was he recycling?
It could be worse, there was a couple (ahem) getting to know one another in the restroom at the opener of the Cowboys new stadium.
Sounds like the very model of efficiency to me. After all, you only rent that beer.
Capitalism at work.
What’s the problem?
The vendor has a captive audience. He’s a smart guy. He’s making more money with less effort that the schlubs carrying their heavy load up and down the stairs. Give credit where credit is due.
OK. Alright, you win. You nailed it. You hit it out of the park! LOL!
So, I guess that beer really did taste like piss?
Not to mention a captive audience.
My experience is that after the first 6 pack, there’s a short cycle time. So, this is good marketing.
Efficiency is a hallmark of successful capitalism, and the ones that never figured it out, or wish they had thought of that will always turn on the successful.
