As President Obama contemplates U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, the military operation in the country is facing increasing violence. Eight U.S. troops were killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday.
October has been the most violent month for U.S. troops in Afghanistan since the war began eight years ago. Todays violence follows the deaths of 14 U.S. troops killed yesterday in a helicopter collision believed to have been caused by enemy fire. A total of 55 U.S. troops have been killed this month. Overall, 2009 has witnessed the highest number of U.S. and NATO troop deaths in Afghanistan since the war began.

His March strategy doesn’t seem to be working very well...
Atlas is experiencing convulsions.
REMORSE is the exact right word. However, I don’t think it’s what the WH is expressing.
If he gave a hoot, he and James Carville of CNN wouldn’t have demanded a runoff election. Now attacks will increase, more people will be killed, beaten and have fingers cut off, and be intimidated. But hey, that’s the chicago way.
“White House Expresses Remorse over troops killed in Afghanistan”
Never let a good crisis go to waste. Obama and his ilk could care less about the “troops” (aka fathers, brothers, sons, sisters, daughters.) They only care about their power. By the time Obama is ready to make a move, the war will be lost. Why else would he delay saving lives. What a p***y we have for a president. Small p on purpose.
We have a grandson at Camp Dwyer (Helmand Province) who we pray for daily. I’m sure this administration couldn’t care less.
As much as he likes to ignore the commanders on the ground, I bet Obama learned it from the media like the rest of us.
He doesn’t give a damn about the troops. He hates them like all Democrat politicians do. The responses in this article from this administration only validate it.
Thanks for the “Untouchables” photo.
That’s a film a bunch of the Republican Leadership should be forced
to watch.
More than once.
PS: I’m going to have to do some research and find out where that
magnificent church in the photo is located.
Chicago-? IMDB.com should have all the pertinent data...
remorse??? How about supporting them to the hilt? Or does he view them as George Bush’s troops and not his?
[spit] Shove your remorse. F 'ing traitors
I pray every day for our military and for our country! We are in the fight of our lives and I ask God to protect our troops and our country from our enemies. We know who are enemies are within our borders.
Lack of respect is also the reason we were attacked on 9-11. The restoration of respect by Bush's deposing of the Taliban and subsequent capture and hanging of Saddam Hussein is why we have been safe from attack....until now.
Oops, I meant Afghanistan, not Iraq.
I regret the loss of life, but I see no reason for me to rush into a decision on more troops. I will continue to dither no matter how many die, since I know in my heart I will have a real breakthrough right around the time of the elections.
Yeah, they’ll set him up with a b-ball game with a bunch of 5 foot Japanese guys and he’ll dunk on them.
That’s true, and the troops know it. They know that because he’s a petty little thug, they have been abandoned by the very power that puts them there and is supposedly sworn to support them. Hence the plummeting morale. They know that most Americans are on their side, but we can’t arm them properly, allow them to make the decisions they need to make, etc. Only their so-called “commander-in-chief” can call the shots. They know this, and they know Hussein not only doesn’t care, he actively hates them. He probably hates them all the more because he could never be man enough to do what they do and because they love America.
