Will Ron Paul give it another go in 2012?
The Texas congressman and hero of limited government advocates will visit the key early primary state of South Carolina on Nov. 9 to deliver a speech "on the future of individual liberty and the importance of the U.S. Constitution" at the University of South Carolina, student groups said Tuesday. The announcement comes a week after Paul scheduled a visit to Iowa on Nov. 13 to speak to students at Iowa State University.

I am still waiting for a stronger candidate.
He needs to stay away from the POTUS race.
He can be a power broker, however, to force the nomination to a true conservative.

Ron Paul will be in his mid 70s in 2012. Could running in 2012 be his last hurrah before retirement? Also, if Ron Paul runs, will he represent the GOP or the Constitution Party ticket? 2012 could be interesting if Ron Paul runs on the Constitution Party ticket and Gary Johnson runs on the Libertarian Party ticket.
Wow, ad hominem in lieu of an actual point. I’m shocked. Really.
My point is that there are much better catalysts for conservative activism out there, and that highlighting Paul’s extreme positions and the rabid tinfoil-hat part of his supporters is not going to do us any favors come 2010 or 2012.
Paul and Johnson are good friends and both represent pretty much the same wing of the party, with only the slight difference of Paul being more pro-life than Johnson. I doubt they’ll oppose each other; rather it’s much more likely one runs and the other endorses the other.
I hope he drops by Lindsay Grahamnesty’s office since he said the Republican Party is not going to be Ron Paul’s Party or a Conservative Party.
Ron Paul needs to be more vocal on this Health Care scam though, he’s good on economics, strong dollar, smaller gov’t, and sovereignty issues.
Exactly, Dr Paul is dangerous on national defense, but I would pick him for Secretary of the Treasury in a nanosecond.
I know some people here on FR don’t like Ron Paul (I do, however I disagree with him on some issues like Foreign Policy to a degree), but having him go around the country and speak is a GOOD thing 1)It helps energize the smaller-government fiscal responsiblity movement, 2) HE CAN draw college students to the libertarian/conservative movements-one of the few politicians that I that can and DOES frequently DO that. 3) He may cause those same students to run/register as republicans, libertarian, constitutionalists and generally smaller government politics.

Ron Paul is doing exactly what he needs to do. He is championing the ideas of liberty and freedom. He reminds the people of the U.S. what their legacy should and could be in that regard. This message is getting through.
It’s actually pretty refreshing compared to the others in D.C. who seem to believe that they have the power to totally control our lives from cradle to grave.
