Please check the details.

The dosage noted is far in excess of what can be received from diet. The source of Vitamin D is not diet,it is manufactured by the skin as a result of exposure to the sun.

Recent study reveals that the vitamin D added to milk is barely adequate to prevent rickets in children. Vitamin supplements also contain lower levels than the 4000 units in the study.

I'm taking 6000 IUs daily. I have friends who have been prescribed 1 pill weekly of 50,000 IUs...by different doctors.

Drinking milk and eating cheese doesn't cut it! Eating fish three times a day is better for Vit D.

Other studies have found that people who take Vit D supplements aren't as prone to catch flu.

From what I’ve always read, they say 20 minutes exposure to the sun a day is what’s needed for Vitamin D production. Who knows? Maybe I’ll ask them to check it next time.
