Herb Denenberg, once Pennsylvania's Commissioner of Insurance and a Professor at the Wharton School, describes in The Bulletin, how the whiff of fascism in this Administration is turning into the stench of fascism. He starts with a reminder of the many ways Obama has acted to stifle opposition views and manipulate public opinion and concludes:
I've emphasized one aspect of fascism -- its objective of the forcible suppression of opposition. But it also qualifies under the other elements, including the suppression of private enterprise and putting it under centralized government control. That is one hallmark of the Obama Administration, it expands government, contracts the private sector and places new and unprecedented power in the hands of a centralized, expanding government bureaucracy.
This government expansion also is a restriction of our freedom because as the government gets bigger, the individual citizen gets smaller. Consider some of the belief systems of his Czars. Ron Bloom, the manufacturing czar thinks the "free market is nonsense."

I was calling this nation fascist back in 2006. Want proof? Go buy a toilet or a shower head, or in California go buy a light bulb.
During the last election I compared Obama’s followers to Hitler’s followers. I also, although with less resolution, compared Obama to Hitler.
After Obama had been in power for six months, it hit me that who he MUCH MORE emulates, on several levels, is Mussolini.
I consider the US to be a fascist nation. As long as you fly under the radar and just do as you are told, and focus on who may win the world series, you’ll probably never notice it though, unless you find yourself at the wrong place at the wrong time.
” ... as the government gets bigger, the individual citizen gets smaller”
” You are thinking “, he said, “ that my face is old and tired. You are thinking that I talk of power, and yet I am not even able to prevent the decay of my own body. Can you not understand, Winston, that the individual is only a cell ? The weariness of the cell is the vigour of the organism. Do you die when you cut your fingernails ? “
He turned away from the bed and began strolling up and down again, one hand in his pocket.
” We are the priests of power “, he said. “ God is power. But at present power is only a word so far as you are concerned. It is time for you to gather some idea of what power means. The first thing you must realize is that power is collective. The individual only has power in so far as he ceases to be an individual. You know the Party slogan : “ Freedom is Slavery “. Has it ever occurred to you that it is reversible ? Slavery is freedom. Alone - free - the human being is always defeated. It must be so, because every human being is doomed to die, which is the greatest of all failures. But if he can make complete, utter submission, if he can escape from his identity, if he can merge himself in the Party so that he is the Party, then he is all-powerful and immortal. The second thing for you to realize is that power is power over human beings. Over the body but, above all, over the mind. Power over matter - external reality, as you would call it - is not important. Already our control over matter is absolute.”
Our job, our duty, is to reverse this march to - fascism, socialism, marxism - whatever hideous hybrid has been hatched.
Mr. Obama even sticks his chin out like Il Duce. All that is lacking is the uniform.
Tell me about it. I've actually posted the comparative pictures. What the heck. Here you go:
Lest anyone object, you could find many other shots. Furthermore, he has another tactic: Have you notice he is so often on stage along? It is like he has a spotlight following him around.
That is not only a superficial anarchist view of the word, but flat out wrong.
The totalitarian, arbitrary control of the minutiae of individual lives is more the hallmark of Stalin, Mao, Castro, Pol Pot.
Sure, oppression in varying degress is common both to marxism and fascism, but what is unique to fascism is the micromanagement of private industries and institutions while maintaining the fiction that they are "independent."
The profoundest irony is that as a group, Obama supporters who play free and loose with labels like "fascist!" have the most tenuous grasp of what they're talking about.
I predict that Barry’s eventual fate will be similar to Il Duce’s.
DEFINITELY NOT PC!!
Barack Hussein Obama is THE ONE.
Just ask your government schooled child!
Under 3 minute video depicting how the Obama cultists resemble the cultists who worshipped that other guy 70 years ago in Germany:

An Armed Man is a Citizen. An Unarmed Man is a Subject.
Never Forget.
From your post:”Sure, oppression in varying degress is common both to marxism and fascism, but what is unique to fascism is the micromanagement of private industries and institutions while maintaining the fiction that they are “independent.”
I never brought up oppression in varying degrees. my whole point in my post was what you said AFTER that.

I was very frustrated, about ten years ago, when I noticed that nobody seemed to know what fascism actually is, so I looked it up. It was at that moment that I realized the US was headed in that direction.
When you need a permit to save rainwater off your roof or to clear blackberries off your property, that is micromanagement while maintaining a facade of freedom.
You are so correct. These moves aren’t towards fascism, I’d say more like neo-maoism.
Besides, fascists have much nicer uniforms. Have you seen the Army Combat Uniform? What exactly does bluish minty green do to camouflage you? Mussolini or Himmler would never have worn such ghastly duds.
My point was that it is a new animal. Perhaps we can call it Obamanism.
The petty 'hood approach to politics, the enemies list, the bling bling trips around the world; all conjure up more images of Idi Amin than Mussolini.
The fascist element comes more from his czars and non-confirmed "kitchen cabinet."
The ever-opportunist scavenger marxist element.
As I read your post, I believe that we are actually in agreement on this, at least in spirit.
Fascists are also into control of individual lives. The only difference between fascism and communism is that communism takes over the means of production, whereas fascism takes over the companies that run the means of production; in other words, communism controls production directly, fascism controls it indirectly and maintains a fiction of private industry.
That said, Obama’s heroes are radical Marxists. I think that some of the people behind him (Emmanuel, for example) are fascists, but I think he’s a Marxist with a self-created Third World ethnic grudge and a love of Islam, and I think this is going to emerge soon. Frankly, I think our only hope is that he and his handlers have a major conflict that weakens them both.
Mussolini doesn’t look quite as arrogant as Obama.
One has only to pay attention to TV commercials to see
the depth the tendrils of government have reached.
I watched a car commercial the other night, it ended
with the saying, “Change is good!”. Now, where have
we heard that before? Yes the Obama campaign,
and the car company...............GM!
