Kinda sad that we had more back then even if it was primitive compared to nowadays, we got it done!

Comparing the technology back then to now, it would have been amazing that we made it to the moon and back once. That we did it many times without losing lots of people is incredible.

I also remember the Saturn launches as a child. I didn't have to travel to the coast to get an ‘eye full’. You could see those through haze half way across the state. I have been telling my kids for years that when they see those vids of the Saturn rockets, notice all the ice that cascades off the skin. Now why would an engineer put a payload on the side of super cold fuel like we do with the shuttle. Put the payload back on top and let the ice fall.

Thats the answer to a lot of our problems nowadays, back then we ALL worked together to a goal, our President had a goal and we believed in our President.

That goal created jobs and technology far superior to any other country, and it was all because we had a goal.

Thats the answer to our problems right now, we have a POTUS with no logical goal for America, if he said we will have a man on Mars by 2012 then POSSIBLY we could have what we had back in the early 60’s.

Well I have to get to work, cya folks, hope it does launch eventually.

Maybe 45 minutes to an hour weather delay.

I’m starting to remember why it’s been years since I’ve watched a launch.

It’s one thing to have a 15 minute window at work where you can pull up NASA TV and keep one eye on the launch.

But I’ve been here two hours now and we don’t seem all that much closer to launching today than we were when I tuned in.

Of course, I’m not suggesting safety be compromised or anything.

I’m just saying that the “lack of interest” in the space program that is often bemoaned has as much to do with not being able to launch anywhere close to schedule as it does with true lack of interest.

Not sure what to do about it, but it is what it is.

Gotta run for now. I hope the launch is successful whenever it occurs...

Would you be kind enough to keep us updated as to what is decided or what happens? I was lurking and watching the stream, but I’ve got to go as well... Thanks.

Still watching and waiting. I think they said they have until noon to launch. so still have about an hour window.

Just heart: The next 15 - 25 minutes provides the best window for weather, after that it gets thicker. They have to see if they can time the countdown with that gap in the weather.

Last shot for the day coming up in roughly the next :15 minutes. Wind just bumped over the acceptable threshold (only by 1 kt,) and there are clouds over the pad, both would need to clear to acceptable ranges in the next couple minutes. Not looking too great.
