There are two possibilities.
They were looking at porn.
or
They are gay.

Even if they were giving each other a close crotch exam, why ignore radio calls?

LOL!
True story: Debbie Does Dallas was filmed in New York, at a college campus where officials at first thought they were filming a legit movie.

The story sounds suspect. I think they were doing each other.

They don’t call it a cockpit for nuthin’!
To: Responsibility2nd
Doesn’t wash with me. There’s no reason that they couldn’t have been monitoring ATC on the radio while playing with their laptops — IF they were conscious.

Perhaps they had their hands over each other's ears.

That ought to leave an easily verifiable trail. I wonder what the next excuse will be for failing to respond to radio transmissions.....

One can expect some incompetency out of the Govt’s TSA employees but airline pilots? Totally unacceptable and they should be fired and never allowed to fly again. At least one of the cockpit crew should be alert and performing duties at hand during the whole flight.

Interesting link of the NWA flight that overshot its Minneapolis destination. Hope this link works for you. Use the zoom controls to see the final "wake-up" approach to Minneapolis to see its flight pattern.

They dont call it a cockpit for nuthin! If the pilots are female, then it's called a box office.

FSX?...Unghhh...no way...FS2004(Century of Flight...previous version)...much better performance on a laptop.
Hmmm, maybe that might explain others who have speculated that...they were taking turns using each others joystick and got distracted???

I can give you a pretty good explanation for the radio calls. The most frequent call we get is to change to the next frequency. Sometimes when the controller gets no response he assumes the crew changed the frequency and is talking to the next sector. If it is not straightened out somewhat quickly the plane flies out of coverage for the frequency that is selected. The next step, usually, happens when ATC calls the dispatcher on the ground who sends a message to the planes ACARS (data link, or printer).
A haven’t flown the Airbus, so I found this out on the way the other night. The dispatchers have no way to ping the pilots in the cockpit. On the Boeing I’ve flown, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, the dispatcher has a choice. He can send the message to our screen, he can send it to the screen and make a chime go off, he can send it to our printer, or he can send it to the printer and make the chime go off.
There is no ability to “chime” the crew on the A-320; at least not the ones my company flies.
I’ve seen guys use computers, view porn, watch movies, do crosswords, read novels, sleep, entertain flight attendants, play cards etc. I’ve never seen them play battleship.

Although there is no cockpit recorder, there is a record on the computers in question. Seems this should be easy to verify, or debunk.

Hey, Joe, go to Ask.com and find out what to do when you see Canadian F-15 interceptors out your cockpit window....

So let us see the laptops and give them them the once over. Pretty easy to tell if and when a computer has been used.
