NEW JERSEY VOTERS: Legislative Scorecard for Ballot Question One this November

Exposing the Hoax

Please view our three minute video report on the real meaning behind "Green Acres."

To our astonishment, a number of State Legislators continue to support this reckless and irresponsible program. With the highest property taxes in the country, the worst and most destructive income tax in America, and a crippling debt load that threatens the future of our state, Democrat and Republican lawmakers join together for a bi-partisan fleecing of our state’s already over burdened taxpayers.

Check out our Question One Scorecard and find out who has the guts to stand up against more debt and higher taxes: http://stophighertaxes.com/2009/10/legislative-scoreboard/

Please contact your legislator if he or she endorses more debt and higher taxes. Tell them enough is enough.

On November 3rd vote NO on Ballot Question One

It is a waste of our tax dollars. A few years ago one of our mayors tried to have his hundred and some odd acre farm part of green acres. He would have gotten about half a million. Would I be able to go fishing in his pond? would I be able to hike or camp there ?

Another big waste is all of the so called famland assessed properties. A lot of farmland assessed property is not really actively farmed. They are really estates that only have to show $500 in receipts to get farmland assessment, saving tens of thousands in tax dollars.

Well, there is two ways to look at this, IMO. Green Acres means that there will be a real farm instead of a new tightly packed house farm.
Tax me now or tax me later — The problem is when you keep building houses, property taxes GO UP, not down (name one city with low taxes!).
The new influx of kids in the schools forces the current town residents to subsidize the new residents — three kids costs about $30,000, about triple what taxes the home owners will pay. And that doesn’t even begin to address the “new school” needed because the town is now bigger.

Read and look at some of the uses of ‘open spaces’ $$:

Thanks. It doesn't play for me. If it was for continued maintenance I might have agreedThis is for acquisition.

We have over 20 State Parks in NJ.

Okay, like ever other state government program, it is being abused by the democrats in the cities. I admit, I am torn by this program. The good of it is that it does save some open space in a very crowded state — the bad of it is that it is abused with pet projects like those you listed.

I wonder where Mr. Lonegan stands on Development Impact Fee legislation. Until something like that is passed to prevent the subsidizing off housing developers by existing residents, I find it difficult to vote against Green Acres. Besides, if the state “saves money” from Green Acres, it will go to some other social program that is more centered around the NJ cities. This is one program that somewhat benefits the more rural areas, albeit inefficient as a government program.

Not in this case. The vote is a ballot question to authorize borrowing through a bond issue for this specific program only. If it does not pass, no money is spent or borrowed.

This is one program that somewhat benefits the more rural areas, albeit inefficient as a government program.

Also not true. It is presented by the politicians that way to mislead you into voting for it, but most of the money actually goes to urban boondoggles.
