If all you believe about Joseph Smith is correct then the Church he founded is even more of a miracle. Can you find anything good about people who give constant service to the poor and unfortunate throughout the world. When major disasters happen anywhere in the world the Mormons are usually the first to arrive with food, bedding, and other needed supplies. We are prepared with over 100 warehouses and canneries in the U.S. Most stakes (diocese)have a Church farm, all run by volunteers. Women in many local wards will make 400 quilts, birthing kits, hygiene kits, etc; each year, on an ongoing basis. Thousands of wheel chairs have been donated throughout the world. Hundreds of water wells have been dug in Africa. We had a fast day for starving Ethopia some years ago,6 million dollars was raised in one day. The Church produces over 20,000 tons of Atmit (an enriched cereal) for the very young and very old in Ethopia every year and delivers it No Charge. Members fast the first Sunday of each month and the money is used for the poor of the world. We have a Perpetual Education fund, 38,000 worthy young men and women in underdeveloped countries have received education and training thus far, lifting them out of grinding poverty. Thousands more will follow this new program. These members, as they can, payback the monies they receive from member contributions to keep the program growing.
We are small, about 3 million families. If every Christian Church throughout the world would have a monthly “Fast”day and contribute that money to the poor we could wipe out poverty in the world. We have no salaried people at the local level, this allows us to build chapels and temples all over the world that are paid for when comleted.
I would invite you to contact the local LDS church, visit our canneries and farms, visit The Bishops storehouse where the poor get free food as needed.
All this, and more comes from the teachings of Ol Joe Smith&
The Savior.

My, my....just think of all the good the LDS Church could do if they spent the $3,000,000,000.00 dollars on helping the downtrodden instead of building a fancy shopping mall.

It astounds doesn’t it? LDS Inc. now admitting City Creek mall will cost $3 billion”, did anyone happen to mention the cost per active church member. If there are 5.5 million active LDS members, then 3.0 billion divided by 5.5 million will equal $545 per every man woman and child who are active members worldwide, many of whom come from economically depressed third world countries - how far would those funds have gone to feed and clothe them?

BINGO

Now, kid...Nana will teach you something about this subject...

No, that’s OK...you dont have to pay me...my privilege...

Stop kissing my foot and just read...

No Christian Church that I know of brags that they give with one hand and demands repayment with the other...

But the mormon religion does...

The mormons dont give or do anything for anyone without benefits to themselves...

So much for how “wonderful” they are...

Christians give without expecting anything in return...

And when Christians give they dont have a press conference and brag and lie about it...

I hope that the mormon cult dont claim taxes on that psuedo “giving”...

Let’s see what Jesus said about giving...

“Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in Heaven. Matthew 6:1

So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. Matthew 6:2

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, Matthew 6:3

In other words...DONT BRAG TO NANA..

And DONT POST SELF-RIGHTEOUS JUNK IN THE RELIGIOUS FORUM...

People wil KNOW you dont follow the teachings of Jesus...

Let’s take a realistic look at charitable giving by the LDS Church. It is difficult since the LDS Inc is so remiss in giving out information about its finances, but....

Gordon B Hinckley stated in 2004 that the church has donated 75 million to charitable organizations since 1982. If you estimate 3 million tithe payers, divide by 22 (yrs), divide by 12 (mo), you come up with 9 cents per member per month. Don’t you think that is generous? Well, not so generous if you take into account the over $500.00 per member spent for a shopping mall.

I kinda makes me sick.

RE: your tagline. Mormons don’t need defending. No one here is attacking mormons.

Mormonism most assuredly, but not mormons. Good people that are mislead aren’t in the crosshairs. You really need to take a good hard look at the information being presented to you and not summarily dismiss nor try to defend against it.

Open your eyes, ears and heart to what is being posted. The truth is being laid right at your feet by people who know.
