Why shouldn’t they drop out? Their personal heroes can run the hell out of of ball, get paid millions, but can’t string a sentence of the Queens english together to save their life.

Amen. I have long felt that he would make a lasting impact in the world if he would focus on the black community and inspire and encourage young people to focus on education and doing something worthwhile. He has a captive audience and one that worships him and would actually listen and be motivated to “change” behavior. In black communities here, his portrait hangs in many business windows.
All he would have to do is schedule visits to schools, and say “Michelle and I would like you all to be at the top of your professions, work hard, give to others, and make this world a better place. Don’t do drugs, have babies out of wedlock or end up in jail. Who knows...you may even get to be president one day.” Doing well would become cool.
Instead, whitey is blamed for keeping the black man down....grrrrr. How sad and pointless. Blaming others never solves a problem.
Would be nice, but the job first and foremost rest squarely on the parents, one of which is noticeably absent. A boys hero needs to be his father.
Not one word about how 70% of black children are born out of wedlock or about how a disproportionate are raised without a father in the house.

Most quit going to school because it wasn’t fun and they wanted to “keep it real”. Now they’re in the joint and keeping it real, real locked up that is. Unfortunately for them and society, it’s the best place for them at this time.

Google “John Floyd Thomas Jr.” and “Carl (aka “Coral”) Eugene Watts”—two proud ebony warriors who police suspect have killed more people than Dahmer, Gacy, and BTK combined.
Throw in David Burke, who was fired from stealing on the job at an airline, snuck on board a flight his ex-boss was on and shot the boss and the pilot and copilot while the aircraft was in flight, killing a total of 42 innocent people in one fell swoop, and you’ve got a pretty high body count.

I agree. But that horse has already left the barn.
How do you change this for future generations? Obama could change the fabric of America for the better by telling fathers to raise their sons, and the fatherless to do better by their families when they come of age.
I have a dear African-American friend who is a foster mom to troubled teen-aged girls. It’s all she can do to keep them from running away to earn quick money doing tricks. These are 15-17 year olds. Can you imagine if our president told these girls that they’d have a better future if they’d stay in school? He is their god. They won’t listen to you or me, but him...his word is gold to them.
IMO, he is wasting a precious opportunity to leave an amazing legacy. Forget healthcare. Inspire this culture to reach and surpass levels of unprecedented accomplishments. For that he would be admired by all.
I knew about Watts, Thomas, and Burke, as well as a few of the others, but I just did a Google search and found that list.
Throw in the “Hi-Fi Murders”, as well. I read about it when it happened in the ‘70s, and just thinking about it makes my blood boil.
