Here's my question: what is it with single women and dogs? I can't count the profiles where I read where she has one or more dogs that she can't live without. It's not the "can't live without" part -- I understand that and wouldn't expect anyone to give their pet up. It's that every single woman seems to have one. I don't hate dogs, I just can't get through the dog test at the allergist without an asthmatic attack--as in, I can't hang around them. It's frustrating :^(

re: Society expects them to find a career AND raise healthy, happy babies.)))
I disagree. Our culture does not want children, unless you count Polanski.
I believed myself a feminist in my early teens, when there was not a lot of freedom of opportunity in the workplace for women and women who wanted a career were largely directed to either teaching, nursing or office management.
Of course, I had to leave the cause of feminism pretty quickly due to the obnoxious political correctness and the promotion of a kind of heartless sexuality.
But even early on, I did not expect feminism to make women happy. I expected, naively, that it would promote freedom, freedom to find more opportunities to pursue happiness.

The natural workings of our (gender-different types of) brains have been totally disrupted.

I believe that statement is no less true for women than for men. In addition, the way that socialism works, it detracts from men even more than from womem, I believe.

“The Women’s Movement should have been about choice, but it wasn’t. It was about replacing “having” to work at home to “having” to work outside the home. It replaced one kind of paternalism ... [with] another ...”
Very well stated. Right now, the saddest part of this is that the women who are doing the most important work for mankind, taking care of our children, are criticized with that most important of opportunities.

Maybe women should have children early on (i.e. early 20s), raise them till they mature and THEN find a career if they have lots of spare time on their hands.
