nstead of being simply a draw for Hispanic viewers, CNNs four-hour documentary, Latino in America, turned into a political rallying cry for activist groups who are calling on the cable news channel to fire Lou Dobbs, a veteran anchor with well-known views on immigration.

The special is tainted....politically (i.e.: CNN is for amnesty).
Really? Do all hispanics really think this way? Do they all identify themselves as foreigners? Because that would change everything.
These ‘groups’ are nothing more than hate filled groups full of socialists and communists. It’s the same everywhere. A couple of intellectuals that think they speak for everyone.
I guess this means CNN isn't really a news organization.
Now, what would a wise Latina do in this instance?

As this economy gets worse, the immigration issue will become a priority to Americans, and the Dems will have a real problem on their hands. When even illegals can’t get jobs, and Americans seeking any kind of public assistance are in line behind illegals, it will not be pretty...
Even Puerto Ricans think of themselves as PR's instead of Americans. (Ever see an American flag hanging next to the PR flag on their car mirrors?) All of the barely English speaking hispanics that I knew at work consider their place of origin their "country". Were they here legally? Who knows. I think most of the were not.
Even the vaunted Cuban community in Miami continues to wax poetic over Cuba.
What this country has done for the past three decades with the cleaver of diversity is carve us all into groups instead of focusing on what we have in common. Is it any surprise that the hispanic lobby is taking that seriously and using it to get their way.
Hispanic is not even a race and it's listed as such on the Census and all other documents.
“. Dobbs is known to be exploring an exit from CNN, and he is viewed as a potential hire for the Fox Business Network, an upstart channel owned by the News Corporation.”
Great! I’m sure Dobbs would be a welcome addition to FOX!
Some very good Filipino friends of mine in the San Diego area - second generation - consider themselves Filipino and refer to white people as ‘Americans’.
Lou Dobbs is married to an immigrant. A LEGAL immigrant. He has NO problem with immigrants.
He has a problem with ILLEGAL immigrants. As all American’s should.
Now, the hispanic organizations are getting kids and young adults all wound up, making them believe they can get rid of Lou...............when in reality its all about money and freedom to report.
They will celebrate a hollow victory as Lou Dobbs walks to the bank, protestors or not.
Lou Dobbs will QUADRUPLE his audience with a move to FOX. He is exactly right on ILLEGAL immigration.
I would prefer he stay on CNN. At least some dingbats get to hear his message. Once he moves then only the choir will hear the sermon.

OR his fans who, ought of habit. endure the rest of the CNN lineup may have their eyes opened by exposure to FOX’s lineup.
Turner and Klein effectively silenced him. He no longer mentions the Birth Certificate thingy. He was shut down. The segments on illegal immigration have been muted, and when he goes on leave the other reporters invert the message, going Left.

I don’t know about ‘all’ hispanics, but Mexicans have no particular allegiance to the USA.

* An overwhelming majority (69 percent) of people in Mexico thought that the primary loyalty of Mexican-Americans (Mexico- and U.S.-born) should be to Mexico. Just 20 percent said it should be to the United States. The rest were unsure.

Agreed! I haven’t checked lately, but Dobbs show had the best ratings of any CNN product for a long time. I don’t think they’ll boot him.
