Reagan was considered hard-core, so much so that they had to put an ultra-sop as his veep. It didn’t matter because he reached over the media’s head to tell people he was about issues, about doing the right thing, & the people totally connected with that. I’ve nothing against an obvious strong conservative, but the “Fox News” meme is too strong. You have to avoid that kind of intrinsic polarization.
