Assuming this isn't some sort of hoax, let me be the first to quote the late, great, W.C. Fields: "A fool and his (or her) money were lucky to get together in the first place."
BTW, what sort of insurance settlement pays out in cash? I suppose she could have cashed the settlement check, but then she could have just put the money in the bank. My more cynical nature is wondering if this woman wasn't a dealer.
Ouch, this may be a teaching moment of some sort
A fool and his/her money are soon departed?
In a bar of all places.
But it is a lot more fun to wave it around at your favorite watering hole.
The downside of that is you just never know who is going to be in a bar.
Yes, it’s true. The report even gave her name: Ima Nidiot.
Reminds one of the tax man catching up with someone who just landed a job.
In Springfield I’m sure the whole event went down in spanish.
( lots of latins in Springfield making $50/hr picking watermellons that Americans won’t pick. Or so I’ve been told by Juan McCain )
Probably already casing out the next business's floor to "slip" on.
A fool and her money are some party.
There are a lot of ignorant people out there.
Back in about 1973 I was setting in a bar on Baltimores notorious 500 block. It was a rough neighborhood. A very well dressed middle aged man came in and started loudly complaining about the neighborhood, the bar and the patrons. He was drinking double shots, leaving $20 tips and had a stack of 100 dollar bills on the bar. Being a nice guy I went over and warned him. He looked at my jeans and work jacket and made a snide remark. I shrugged my shoulders and returned to my beer. When he left several patrons followed him outside.
He was mugged.
What a great “I told you so” story!
I wonder if alcohol was involved. ;-)
Maybe '74? That's when Death Wish came out. I guess the guy didn't have the stones to pull it off.
Indiana Jones sez,
“A fool and his mummy are soon parted.”
