So, by this logic - someone who slaps a pedophile for exposing himself is guilty of a Federal crime with more penalties than had the pedophile slapped a heterosexual person?? This law places the government and law-enforcement in the role of reading motivations into someone’s actions and then penalizing what they IMAGINED their motive to be according to the special group to which the “victim” belonged.... and you see nothing wrong with this????? REALLY????? Violent crimes are already prosecuted. Why special protections with stiffer penalties for “special groups”?? Clear violation of the Constitution.
