Rep. Michele Bachmann, the iconoclastic Minnesota congresswoman becomes, as far as I can tell, the first incumbent Republican to back the Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman over Republican Dede Scozzafava in the roiling NY-23 special election. On her radio show yesterday, Laura Ingraham skillfully pushed Bachmann to take a stand on the race the answer seemed to come by accident.
What I read, said Bachmann, is that the Republican-endorsed candidate is actually number three. The Democrat is number one and the conservative candidate is number two. (This was not actually true in the last poll, which showed Democrat Bill Owens leading Scozzafava, and Hoffman bringing up the rear.)
Nudged by Ingraham, Bachmann threw Scozzafava under the bus. Hoffman is on the ascendancy, she said, and we have to win this seat, and people need to get behind the winning candidate, and it looks like thats Hoffman. After Ingraham said that Bachmann had just made an endorsement, the congresswoman didnt correct her: It appears that he has the best chance right now.
Finally an incumbent republican has the guts to weigh in. Good show.
PALIN / BACHMANN '12 !!
Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.
Scozzafava also holds these positions:
Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.
This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” libeRal democRat. Mark Steyn has coined the term DIABLO for her and others like her. Democrat In All But Label Only.
There are also at least 17 unprincipled DIABLO enablers in the house who have donated funds or otherwise supported to this LibeRal democRat's DIABLO’s campaign. They include Boehner, Cantor, Sessions, Hensarling, Brown-Waite and McCotter. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These unprincipled enablers should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year. Also, perhaps those of us who donated to the RNC or RCCC should ask for our money back so we can support the conservative candidates of our choice.

I support Doug Hoffman for Congress (PayPal). Please, spread the word about this important election on November 3, 2009 in New York’s 23rd congressional district. |
Hoffman is supposed to be on Glenn Beck’s TV show tonight:

Newt was making the usual Establishment Republican noise
FWIW she predicted that Hoffman would win the NY 23rd race...
While other so-called conservatives vote present or endorse the party line, Bachmann does the right thing.
That's not what I've heard - I've heard that Scozzafava is actually running last per some internal polling. At this point, she just needs to drop out and stop sucking votes away from Hoffman.
It’s treason. We can’t support the RNC directly until we get our people in there.
Here are all the links one needs to campaign for Hoffman on the internet:

Just visit these blogs, get accounts, and post in support of Hoffman, and point people to data on Scozzafavas Wikipedia page.
The first of the above links is a guide to supporting Hoffman. Also has some great advice, though poorly sourced.
Just until election day, I wont troll FR as much, I will visit these blogs and support Hoffman as the real conservative, and so should you.
The last official poll was released October 15, and had Hoffman in third place, but rapidly surging (and Scozzafava in second place, and rapidly falling). All the reports I’ve seen since say that all the candidates’ internal polling now have Scozzafava in last place. We know for sure that Hoffman’s fundraising has been going crazy.
The next official poll will tell.
She also trial ballooned the name of Steve King for Prez. Michele may be female, but she’s got more testosterone than the entire GOP leadership combined. Plus, she’s oh so easy on the eyes.
Yes, the Club for Growth kicking in a cool $300K *had* to help. Main problem is that the population is so spread out, you don’t have any single media market you can concentrate on. You have, what, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Watertown? Lots of area with not a lot of intensive broadcast media coverage.
The Republican party is being run by liberals. Support for Scuzzyface was an attempt to move the party even more left.
Newt was on Mike Gallagher this morning and gave a piss-poor explanation of his support for Scarzafovva (sp). It was basically, “I was the hero of ‘93 when we got all those moderate Republicans elected”. Yeah, and that worked out SO well for us, didn’t it, Newt?
Colonel, USAFR
She won't do that for the simple reason that, as ellery noted in another thread, this race is about more than Hoffman and Scozzafava. It's about the GOP/RNC party establishment and "leaders" putting conservatives in their place...
There will be more of these types of situations and scenarios to come. These RINO types are never going to be persuaded to compromise and move right. Just like the hardcore left, they have to be defeated. They care more about their turf than they do about their country and the rights and freedom of their constituents.
