Actually, we should rejoice when an idiot the likes of Frum calls our premature death, because he’s almost sure to be wrong. Frum really needs a neuron transplant, though he’s starting from a considerable deficit. He uses the Anne Coulter technique of deliberately writing provocation fairly well, but he flat out has nothing to back it up. He’s quite not worth getting upset about, he’s a nothing.

He’s not an idiot. He’s an infiltrator. His job is to give the hard left the moral high ground on major issues by getting as many Republicans as possiblle to adopt them in the name of pragmatism.

Frum and his “New Majority” would spell the end of the two-party system. That’s his goal. He’s a leftist mole.

Scozzafava would be just as bad as the Democrat when it came to voting. Better to let the 'Rat win this one and recapture the seat in the next election with a conservative Republican.

I saw Sen. Fred Thompson's wife being interviewed on TV the other day--she was questioned about this race and said she wouldn't vote for Scozzafava if she lived in that district.

Does anyone know what "scozzafava" means? "Fava" is a kind of bean.

I’ve always said: “Compromise to a liberal means: do it my way.” It’s funny how Frum sees the problem as being with the conservative, and not the other way around. Compromise could also mean the RNC supports the conservative....

That is because “politics” is a Democrat win exactly as if the Conservative were not running.

Result:

Dim wins - Liberal Democrats win
GOP wins - Liberal Democrats win
Conservative wins - only true win for non-Liberals.

Just ask the GOP Senators from Maine.

The undeniable truth is that the NY Republican power structure threw this election. Save your Beltway sermons.

Yeah, I would say when the Republican Party puts up a candidate and another Republican jumps in to split the vote, the “jumper-in-er” should be the focus of the blame.

When Bush and the party backed Specter how did that turn out?

Fred’s PAC is donating to Hoffman and he has endorsed him.

Wrong.

If Hoffman stays out, the GOP wins the seat.

You’re reading too much into these 3 races. NJ is a governor race, and NJ deserves a crook in control.
As for NY 23, Hoffman is sending a signal to BOTH dems and Repubs, adopt a conservative plank and you can get MORE votes. Otherwise A shoo in if Hoffman voters get their needs addressed in a candidate who reaches out to Hoffman voters.
Ignore the Conservative voters, and its a tossup, not a sure thing.
NY 23 is a lesson ...... its a sacrifice of a Congressional seat to teach a lesson, maybe.
And once taught, the lesson doesn’t have to be repeated in other future elections.
When daily KOS likes a Republican Candidate, she is unacceptable.....learn the lesson Republican bosses. Americans want REAL CHANGE NOW....not GRADUAL CHANGE.

That is true if the Republican Party does not put up a Democrat as their candidate. Putting the voters into a position to vote for one of two Democrats gives no help to the Republicans.

The long knives of the GOP are coming out against conservatives. It's the conservatives' fault that the flaming liberal Republican cannot win. The Old Party had nothing to do with it; they were poor, innocent victims.

Conservatives and libertarians, you are seeing that the GOP is not your friend?

This may work out for Hoffman.

I’m assuming that he’s running to raise his name ID which will enhance his chance in 2010.

Trouble is, in this case, the GOP winning the seat is a Democrat win. There is no way that the GOP candidate will vote with the GOP.

You can only teach children that “if they play with fire..they will get burned.”

End of story.

And if you and your ‘moderate’ cohorts have your way, 2008’s bloodbath will be repeated ad infinitum. Save your sermons, we’ve heard it all before and aren’t listening anymore.
