WATERTOWN, NY - Doug Hoffman, the conservative Republican candidate for Congress (NY-23), today received the endorsement of former House Majority Leader Dick Armey. Citing Hoffmans support for lower taxes, less government and more freedom Armey endorsed Hoffman in front of a room filled with supporters at Hoffmans Watertown, NY campaign headquarters. Armey, a Texas Republican, served in the House of Representatives from 1985 2003 and held the title of House Majority Leader from 1995-2003.
Dick Armey said: I am endorsing Doug Hoffman in this crucial race for Congress for three very basic reasons; Doug Hoffman believes in lower taxes, less government and more freedom. Hes not a career politician; hes private citizen who has had enough and has the courage to stand-up and take action for the good of his community and his nation. As an Army veteran, a CPA, and a small businessman Doug understands the problems that affect the voters of the 23rd Congressional District. As a husband, a father and a grandfather he realizes that if we dont take action now, what sort of America will we have to pass on to succeeding generations. Though Doug may not be running on the Republican line, Doug is the real Republican in this race and thats why Im endorsing him today.

Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.
Scozzafava also holds these positions:
Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.
This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” libeRal democRat. Mark Steyn has coined the term DIABLO for her and others like her. Democrat In All But Label Only.
There are also at least 17 unprincipled DIABLO enablers in the house who have donated funds or otherwise supported to this LibeRal democRat's DIABLO’s campaign. They include Boehner, Cantor, Sessions, Hensarling, Brown-Waite and McCotter. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These unprincipled enablers should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year. Also, perhaps those of us who donated to the RNC or RCCC should ask for our money back so we can support the conservative candidates of our choice.

Newt’s on with Laura. “Our listeners”? Bye bye Newt.
Good, but little press coverage.
Hopefully this will be the end of Newt and his prostituting himself for publicity.
I don’t mind the social liberalism as long as they don’t try to foist their views on the rest of us. But
I fail to see any issue that separates her from the democrats
any local papers carry that pic of Scuzzy surrounded by Hoffman supporters??
BTW: it's NYSLUT
(NYS LIBERAL united teachers)
Bye BYE NEWT is right! I don’t want to hear him again. I have lost ALL RESPECT for him over this endorsement!!!!
Is she asking the obvious “What the hell is he thinking?:
We need to get Michael Steele immediately replaced by someone who will have the cajones to take on the East Coast/D.C. Repub power brokers that are sabotaging conservative candidates.
My wish is that Dick Cheney and his daughter, Liz, would take a year off from writing his memoir to do this service for our party.
He used to be my Congressman, by the way. He wasn't worth a pitcher of warm spit then, either.

Yeah, Laura grilled Newt pretty well - but I think Gingrich held his own, and made a few decent points.
He said that Hoffman competed in the primary process and lost decisively to “whats her name.” He said he’s afraid that if every contested Republican primary ends up in 3rd party challenge - the result will be overwhelming Democrat victories.
Anyone know the history of the primary in this case? Was it a fair election ? How could Hoffman be polling so well and lose in the primary? Just wondering.
Steele actually seemed to resist this mess. Steele was dragging his feet on this until the RCCC went all in last week. Scozzafava was almost broke at that point.

The blame for this goes to Sessions and the RCCC. The House leadership has been pushing Scozzafava. The breakdown was in the vetting process at the RCCC. Sessions has tried to blame it on staffers, but if staffers made this decision, there is a problem with whoever delegated this to the staffers.
I haven’t looked that closely. I am in Florida, so I don’t get the local papers up there. I’ll confess, I haven’t checked the main websites from the local papers either. Nothing has hit the search engines and other resources I have been following on this, though.

Sadly I can see Hoffman losing the primary. New name, no money, going against establishment. How does a new comer enter the fray???? Like he is doing. Make it a national race??? I think we are doing the right thing here. Vote Hoffman.
what cities are covered by this district, I can at least check the front pages on the Newseum
Laura rolled over like a puppy big time when she interviewed Specter on O’Reilly some months ago. I have been very disappointed in her.
Oswego, Fulton, Oneida, Watertown, Ogdensburg, Potsdam, Massena and Plattsburg are shown on the map at wikipedia.

I lost respect for him in 1995 when I learned that he was a member of the anti-US Council on Foreign Relations. He is also a Drug Warrior on steroids.
