Charles Lollar, a conservative Republican from Charles County, announced this week his candidacy for the District 5 congressional seat held by House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D).
“We’re going to speak the truth. We’re going to speak about what matters. There are people hurting out there,” Lollar told about 80 supporters gathered Wednesday at the American Legion banquet hall in Greenbelt, where he announced his run that was expected after he set up an exploratory committee several months ago.
Lollar, 38, a Newburg resident and regional general manager for Cintas uniform company, is the first official challenger to announce a run against Hoyer in the 2010 congressional race.
Lollar previously served in the Marines and currently is chairman of the Charles County Republican Central Committee.
Lollar said he is running on a pledge to reduce taxes, limit government spending and “give Congress back to the people.” He also opposes the public option in health care reform and government spending on bank bailouts.

I would crawl across a parking lot full of broken glass to vote against Hoyer. No matter who runs against him. He is a Socialist pos and is out to destroy America, along with the other traitors in DC! Boot all incumbents!

I just watched the 5 minute video at the link I posted above. What a great candidate! And you can tell a lot about a person by the groups he’s a member of on Facebook. Lots of good stuff there by my standards.

This is going to be such an expensive campaign season for me.
We might see another environment such as displaced Speaker Foley in 1994. Does Lollar have that magic? Is the environment sufficiently polluted by bad politics? Don’t know, but betting on it.
B1-Bob Dornan's seat was essentially stolen by illegals voting and NOTHING ever came of it. ACORN got Minnesota's senate race flipped to the democrat party... and not one thing happened.
Boxes of fake votes and a voting machine found in a democrat precinct workers trunk in Florida... NOTHING.
So unless we're willing to actually throw down legally or adopt the tactics of our enemies, it's all for nothing. We'll NEVER win at the ballot box, the judiciary is already against us and "sets policy" as the wise Latina stated with her smirking little ferret face.
