It is not the fact God is outside ourselves that is important, but that we carry our faith in God inside ourselves. Moreover, one can depend upon God for only that which was promised (and eternal salvation should be enough to satisfy anyone) - those who depend upon God for material advantage will be disappointed.

“Lord won't you buy me, a color TV
Dialing for dollars, is trying to find me
I wait for delivery
each day until 3
So Lord, won't you buy me, a color TV.”

Material ADVANTAGE, yes. I agree. Faith in God is not about gathering wealth in this lifetime.

On the other hand, God is there to help with our physical needs, too. (The operative word is "help".) The key is, God comes FIRST, and we work to lay up our treasure in Heaven, not here on earth.

Jesus said in Luke 12:

" 29And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

30For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

31But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. "

Said Paul, in Phillipians 4:19: " But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

FRegards

Gather the Facts

A wise businessman once remarked that it is a waste of time and manpower for those in charge of making decisions to try to decide before they have accumulated the necessary data. In order to eliminate waste, we need to be informed about all factors involved in our decisions. The book of Luke states that a wise man will sit down and count the cost before he begins building a tower (Luke 14:28-30). Counting the cost involves becoming fully aware of one’s resources and all pertinent factors involved in moving forward with a project.

This point of wisdom seems so obvious that we do not mention it often. Yet, being human, our emotions, initial excitement and enthusiasm about a project can cloud our judgment. It is easy to brush critical factors aside for another day or time. Such an attitude has been the formula for trouble and disaster for many. Develop a sharp, keen ability to gather the facts,

“AARP is nothing but a subterfuge to sell seniors overpriced products while claiming to represent their interests.”

I don’t know about the mutual funds AARP pushes now. A few years before the meltdown the AARP funds were basically trash that could only be sold to dummies, who belonged to AARP.

Then you also have the ones that go to McDonalds and bitch at the girl behind the counter because she didn't give the greedy bastard ten cents off on his coffee.

I have a low @$$hole tolerance so when I see something like that, I tend to intervene.
