By now, the cat is out of the bag - President Barack Obama and his administration are no fans of the Fox News Channel and have been all too eager to wear that sentiment as a badge of honor.
However, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer identified the vigor with which the Obama administration has attacked Fox. He explained on Fox News Oct. 20 broadcast of "Special Report with Bret Baier" it's different than just fighting back, but an effort to destroy the cable news channel.
"Look, it's one thing for the government, the administration to attack opponents, institutions, media," Krauthammer said. "It is another to go out to try and delegitimize them and destroy them."

The Democratic Party's politicians and non-representative czars true colors are becoming apparent to more and more American voters who believed America needed change. The upcoming elections in 2010 will hopefully return some sense of sanity and create bipartisanship to Washington politics. Real reform can then take place...reform that is good for America and not simply the special interests of the authoritarians in unchecked political power for almost three years to date.
If history is any indicator, America has performed best economically with a conservative majority in congress and a liberal/left president in office. Hopefully in 2010 we can achieve some sense of balance and representative democracy again in this great republic of the United States of America.
The 2010 elections have the potential to turn this economy around and remove the majority of and the ability for serious successful corruption in Washington.
I read that Major Garrett has H1N1. Hopefully that is the ONLY reason for his absense.
With this administration, the WH briefings are a joke anyway. How much more will a correspondent learn by being there as opposed to waiting for a press ‘release’ So go ahead Gibbs-ey, shut them (Fox)out. You think they’re loud now, wait until you try a stunt like that.
And if any of the regular press corp had cojones, they would ALL not show up. Let Gibbs speak to an empty room.
I don't agree.
In the first place the number of minutes given to ads on Beck's show is much less than on O'Reilly or Hannity. He runs 20 minutes at the start of the show without any ads. No other show on Fox does this.
Now this may be changing slowly over time. I hope so. But the QUALITY of the advertisers is really what I was addressing. I just don't think that the advertising budgets for the Gold Guys and National Review are in the same league with the really big corporations. And you will not see any major corporations advertising on Beck. I don't like that but it seems to me to be the case.
IIRC, Major contrated H1N1. Maybe that is why he is not there. Just a guess, though.
Yes, Major has the flu. Haven't heard when he'll be back.
Jay Leno said that the Wimp House wants Major to take all the time he wants before returning....5 years, maybe...
If McCain or Bush were president and reporters from ABC, MSNBC, etc were ill with H1N1 you can imagine the left wing bloggers stirring up conspiracy theories saying the administration deliberately gave it to them!
Speaking of the flu, they are out of vaccines just about everywhere around here. BH0 is not being blamed for this. Just imagine though if Bush or McCain were president now.

Which Glenn Beck are you watching?
Cause the one that is on FoxNews at five has picked up the number of commercials.
We were discussing it on the FR live thread last week. You get 5 minutes of Beck and 5 minutes of commercials. All of us are noticing.
Perhaps you should turn the show on more often before you comment.
"We are not amused."
I'll go check yesterday's commercials. I TIVO Beck's show so I can actually get a commercial count. Maybe things are improving. I'll post what I find for yesterday's show in five or ten minutes.
Great!
Check out the next couple of Fox shows and count the commercials as well.
If you have a show from, say March, that would be good too.
As I stated in an earlier post, Beck is on for 20 minutes non-stop at the start of his show. Nobody on Fox does this. It is unusual. What is also unusual is the large number of Fox Promos on his show. That is not a good sign. And lastly, there is a TOTAL absence of any major corporate advertisers with the one surprising exception: AARP.
I'm not on Beck's case. I'm a big supporter. But I believe Fox is not getting the revenue that they should be getting from his show which is wildly popular and drawing huge audiences. So I conclude that the advertising boycott has had an effect...sorry to say.

This is what a Commie means when he uses the term “democracy”.
So how does that compare to the Pre- Van Jones/color of change boycott shows and the rest of Fox. From what I’m seeing, it’s around 45 minutes of Beck to the hour. About par with any other show.
How have things have changed? By extending and shortening segments?
And BTW, some of those commercials are spots from your cable provider. I watch on the internet. I get local/different commercials. The Branson holiday tourism commerical sticks in my mind.
Along with that, it’s been proven that most of the advertisers who were quoted as saying they would not advertise on Beck, never did. Sargento and Clorox did pull ads but Beck never had huge biggies on his show anyway.
Advertisers are not stupid. They advertise where it will make them tons of money.
I wonder if there’s a difference in commercials run at the 5:00 showing of Beck’s show and the later showing (11:00 here on the West Coast).
I don’t know! Good thought. I think it would be fun to research though.
Makes you wonder if there isn’t double the revenue for airing the show twice with different commercials.
Republicans are really good at hiding under rocks when they should be fighting. Typical.
Really?
I thought Major was sick with flu?
