Obama to skip anniversary of the fall of Communism

It is pretty clear why the president is refusing to accept the personal invitation of the German chancellor and attend festivities marking the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
It would smack of American triumphalism - our success in defeating perhaps the most odious of all the odious ideologies of the 20th century. Obama doesn't do "triumphalism." That would place America above other nations - something that he has explicitly condemned.
So he will be conspicuous by his absence. And another European ally has been embarrassed by this president.

God forbid he acknowledges the contribution of Ronald Reagan, a man he couldn’t even shine shoes for.

Exactly. The communist traitor mole will be in deep mourning, and plotting its resurgence in the USA and worldwide.

Well, given that our enemies now occupy the White House the fall of the Berlin wall seems like no big deal.

Maybe they can give him a prize?

You know, as painful and dangerous as the Obama years might be they are serving a useful purpose. It's just not in the genes of Americans to learn from the past. We're like the fish that is caught, thrown back and takes the bait again in five minutes! We had Carter, gave us Reagan. We had Clinton, gave us Bush. Time and again we have to be shown, first hand and in living color, just what a bad president looks like.
In the long run, I suspect Obama is a gift from God. Seriously. He is so over the top that all but the most stubborn Lefty will know the difference between good and evil after seeing him and his minions in operation.
Those of us who grew up in a very different America should probably be thanking God for giving us such a great example as to why we need to turn back the clock!
And now, a shameless plug! Keep your eye on Sarah Palin! They're just out of the starting gate, and the field is bunched up right now, but the race is decided at the finish line, not the starting gate!

No surprise. It would have been more shocking if he had gone. He would have had to find good things to say about Reagan and the first President Bush. For now he is too busy running around the country raising big bucks for Dems. So much for post partisanship.

Not to mention, most of his appointees are quite openly in favor of commie ideology, so he doesn’t want to offend them.
