NORFOLK Election Day is November 3.
A new poll from WVEC, the Virginian-Pilot and Christopher Newport University shows Republican Bob McDonnell is comfortably ahead of Democratic challenger Creigh Deeds in the race for Virginia governor.
If the election for Governor were held today, for whom would you be most likely to vote?
Bob McDonnell: 44.7%
Creigh Deeds: 30.9%
Undecided: 21.9%
CNU professor and pollster Quentin Kidd says with so many voters on the fence, Deeds has a chance, albeit a slim one at this point.
"It suggests the Deeds campaign has room in the voting population out there to make his case. He simply hasnt done it, Kidd says.
Recently, the news media has reported on a thesis Bob McDonnell wrote as a graduate student in 1989. McDonnell criticized working mothers and homosexuals as detrimental to families, although he now says he no longer holds those views. Does news of McDonnells thesis make you more likely or less likely to vote for him, or wont it affect you vote either way?
Wont affect vote either way: 66.7%
Less likely to vote for McDonnell: 18.4%
More likely to vote for McDonnell: 2.3%
Kidd says Deeds initially gained ground on McDonnelll when he brought up the issue.
"They haven't given folks a reason to say I'm going to vote for Creigh Deeds. They've only given voters a reason I don't want to vote for Bob McDonnell. I don't think that's going to be a winning strategy," Kidd believes.
Kidd praises McDonnell for running a "disciplined and focused campaign and says hes not surprised McDonnell is ahead.
Latest poll ping.
Michelle Obama’s senior year thesis at Princeton University, obtained from the campaign by Politico, shows a document written by a young woman grappling with a society in which a black Princeton alumnus might only be allowed to remain “on the periphery.” Read the full thesis here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.
“My experiences at Princeton have made me far more aware of my ‘blackness’ than ever before,” the future Mrs. Obama wrote in her thesis introduction. “I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don’t belong. Regardless of the circumstances underwhich I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second.”

Washington Post:
“Damn it!”
Is tomorrow’s debate going to be televised like the last one was?
I guarantee the Washington Post “poll” will show a surge for Deeds in the last two weeks with him down only a point or two the day before the election. Its a trick this wretched “news”paper pulls all the time; try to stimulate Demo campaign workers and stay at home voters into believing its a tight race and they’ve got to turn out.
Perhaps the GOP ought to recruit more Regent U. graduates to run for office. ;)
Could it be that Americans are waking up to Obama media?
If the GOP can take both the VA and Jersey governorships, this will be a game changer for the entire Obama agenda. It will be a clear signal to the blue dogs that if they vote for the healthcare and cap & tax boondoggles, they will be out of a job next November.
And Deed looks like a troll.
And yet it never occurs to her that the problem is that they are liberal? Liberal professors give classes all day microanalyzing race issues; and students spend all day studying such things - and shockingly enough they come away thinking that racial identity trumps all.
Speaking of theses, Hillary’s college thesis was locked up for many years. It was a paper in praise of Saul Alinksy. The Clintons arranged for it to be locked away, never to see the light of day until after Bill was elected president.
Why are these liberals ashamed of their writings and beliefs? Why don’t they proudly tell us about their liberal beliefs and admiration for radicals? Conservatives proudly talk about conservative principles and admiration for conservatives. Why don’t liberals do the same?

I was just listening to Larry Klayman on CSPAN radio in the car when they announced that tomorrow’s debate will be televised from Roanoke.
CSPAN is supposed to cover it.
My memory of Michelle Obama’s Princeton thesis is that she was so disappointed in polling Princeton alum that they didn’t agree with her thesis.
