ABC News's Web site includes the article "Is Obama 'Too Nice' to Make Tough Decisions?" by correspondent David Kerley. The piece begins: With problems for the president in Afghanistan, health care and unemployment, some critics on both the left and right are asking: Is the president essentially "too nice" to make the important decisions? The National Journal magazine asks in a just-out edition, "Is He Tough Enough?"
"Be decisive," says Tom Tradewell, the commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Even liberal New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd says the president will have to "break some eggs" to cook up a more perfect union.
None of the people quoted assert the problem is Obama's affability. Rather, the difficulty is the extreme caution he exercises, many times so as to not offend interest groups.
We know Obama has little reluctance in employing the us-versus-them class struggle rhetoric against private enterprise. He's accused surgeons of removing legs and tonsils for the money. (The American College of Surgeons pointed out his statement that a surgeon receives $50,000 for a leg amputation was a little off; Medicare pays between $740 and $1,140). Obama has no qualms sending his flunkies forth to attack Fox News. On Saturday, he personally claimed that health insurers are filling the airwaves with deceptive and dishonest ads.
Too nice? Not hardly. Indecisive? Definitely. Dithering? You bet. Waffling? Absolutely. Unqualified? The answer increasingly becomes apparent. While Obama repeatedly says he wants to make things clear, rarely does he provide specifics.
As he stumbles and vacillates and falters, we've seen the mainstream media supply an arsenal of excuses for Obama's failings. He inherited it all from Bush. He set too ambitious an agenda. Large Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress aren't enough. He's so terribly brilliant and nuanced that it takes the American public quite a while to catch up with him.
And now an excuse is he's just too nice. That's as empty as Obama's promises, and will last about as long.
Too tough to make NICE decisions!
His handlers have sent him out on frivolous pursuits, fundraisers, etc.
busy work for someone who is unable to sit at the adult table discussing today's issues like unemployment...
Obambi also spends way too much time on pet peeves like did somebody on talk radio call him poopy pants
He and his czars are morons.
He can’t make decisions at all until he understands how they will affect him politically. He won’t know that until he consults with his “handlers”.
“Is Obama ‘Too Nice’ to Make Tough Decisions?”
Wha??....
Here’s a better question, “Is Obama ‘too moronic’ to make tough decisions?”
When I turned 18 Carter was president. I naively thought that was his problem, too nice. I have since learned how dispicable of a man he is. I see a lot of similarities between him and Obama.
Thats me, all over.
interviewer: marron, what is your greatest character flaw?
marron: I’d have to agree with everyone who knows me. I’m just too kind. Thats my failing. You know, people are always coming up to me and saying, marron, you are just too good. So, kind and good. Those are my biggest flaws.
He’s not “too nice” he’s TOO WEAK!
We have a panty waste in the Presidency, its really nothing more complicated than that.
One thing I noticed just today reading “Rules for Radicals” is that “organizers” are not leaders. Being President of The United States requires a leader who will take charge and, well, LEAD, not an organizer who sits around and gets other people to do the grunt work.
Voted “Present” how many times? And they’re just figuring this out?
Fixed...
I prefer “moral coward”.
Agreed. Anyone that studied his record knows this is his MO (sit on the fence, don't take a stand). But hey, he looks great in a swimsuit./barf
I just had lunch and almost LOST IT seeing this photo. DISGUSTING!
No, he does not want to be seen making a decision, or to be standing on anything firmer than clouds. If he does, he can be attacked on his positions, and he will loose some, and thereby lose his halo.
It's that halo effect that allows him to drag along the moderates. And when the unions get upset when they figure out that they have 'cadillac' health plans, it won't be Obama that they get mad at, but Baucus or one of the other stalking horses.
He may be in over his head, but his handlers aren't.
Obambi is a typical bully. When it comes to standing up to our enemies such as Iran, North Korea, Russia, Al Qaida, etc., he is weak-kneed and seeks to appease them. He is only bold when it comes to going after American citizens who happen to disagree with him.
That was also my first choice, but...
"Too ignorant," also works for me.
As to "nice," a calculating, vicious marxist would be more appropriate.
“ABC News: ‘Is Obama ‘Too Nice’ to Make Tough Decisions?”
It’s not that at all. It takes time waiting to hear what the New World Order masters tell him to do.
Slick and slippery are the correct words. He can only make “decisions” when and in such manner that he can always claim “the devil made me do it”. i.e. Bush’s fault.
