Hoffman winning would be good for his district and his vote. And if it taught a lesson to the Pubbie establishment, that’d be good too.

But if it doesn’t change the minds of the Pubbie establishment, on one hand, and it inspires a bigger third-party movement on the other—now that would be a disaster.

It’s really a bad situation all around, I’m afraid.

Yes, a third party movement arising to split the vote on the right is the real danger here.

it's not a bad situation, it's a great opportunity ... and we have nothing to lose and everything to play for.

I feel bad for the so-called conservative activists/constitutionalists/libertarians who are not participating in this race.

And there won't be any deal worked out between the R and the C. Just as there won't be a deal worked out between the Dodgers and Phillies. (If Dede decides to drop out of the race ... fine with me.)

You couldn't be more wrong.
It's a win win for conservatives and Republicans.
it's far, far better for the Republican Party for Scozzafava to lose, than for her to win.
Having a pro-ACORN, pro cap and trade, pro gay marriage, Scozzafava sitting in the House as a Republican, would be much worse than having the 0bamacare supporting Olympia Snowe sitting in the US Senate as a Republican.
