Fox News host, garage band cover guitarist, and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will be making a long-planned speech before the New York Conservative Party in Syracuse, New York on October 28, but has thus far declined to say whether he will formally endorse or financially support Conservative Party House candidate Doug Hoffman, who is running to fill former Rep. John McHugh's 23rd Congressional District seat.
Most Republican Party leaders have thus far taken a pass in endorsing Hoffman, who has the support of the conservative Club for Growth, as well as the American Conservative Union. House minority leader John Boehner and his right hand man, Rep. Eric Cantor have refused to get in the middle of the race, while former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney have also declined to support Hoffman.
Huckabee had agreed to attend the dinner for the state party in upstate New York some time ago and is looking forward to using his speech to draw attention to Hoffman, according to a longtime Huckabee aide. But Huckabee has not decided whether to fully endorse Hoffman or just "say some nice things about him to boost his candidacy," says the source, adding, when asked how far Huckabee might go to support the conservative in the race, "We probably won't be going so far as to let him tap into our national fundraising network, if that's what you mean."

They only care about themselves and POWER.
I agree Huck is shrewd. It’s a pathetic, though, if he has to wait until he sees which way the winds are blowing to take a stand.
LOL. Well, it’s pathetic that the entire crop of 2008 pubbies running for president waited til 2007 to sound remotely conservative (Hunter and Tancredo, excluded)
That's a great question. Here's some more info on Scozzafava, the candidate that Newt, the RNC, etc. endorse (and the candidate that Romney and possibly Huck have declined to oppose):

Scozzafava is an abortion rights advocate who favors gay marriage. It would be one thing if Scozzafava balanced that social liberalism with fiscal conservatism. But as a state assemblywoman, she voted for massive tax increases, Democratic budgets and a $180 million state bank bailout. She also supported the trillion-dollar federal stimulus package which every House Republican voted against.
More troubling, Scozzafava in past elections has embraced the ballot line of the Working Families Party a socialist outfit whose political DNA is intertwined with scandal-ridden ACORN. ACORN and the WFP have shared office space in New York City, Arkansas and Illinois. ACORN head Bertha Lewis, a close Scozzafava friend and political supporter, wears a second hat as vice chairman of the WFP. The WFP has been listed in ACORN documents dating back to 2000 as an affiliate.
Hey, I don’t want to see ANY of the 2008 crowd run again (even Thompson, the guy I backed). I’m just posting about the GOP’s would-be 2012 candidates, and their calculating refusal to wholeheartedly support a promising, potentially winning conservative candidate against an ACORN GOP pick.
True colors are showing all over the place.
ping.
Why aren’t they supporting him? Skeletons?
I imagine if it were just about skeletons, the RNC and Gingrich would have stayed out of the race entirely (rather than endorse Scozzafava, the big government ACORN GOP candidate).
My guess is that Romney and Huck are too craven to oppose the RNC unless they’re forced to do so. IMO, they along with the RNC don’t care about principles—they care about power only.
I’m beginning to think conservatives are the RINOs, Mr. Robinson. :(
According to this, Huckabee will NOT be endorsing Hoffman against the ACORN GOP candidate:

That’s a wrong thought IMO
...... RINOs tolerate conservatives.....they clearly don’t embrace us or the conservative movement. .
They are both socialist RINO’s left-wing republicans.
If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense...
Thomas Jefferson
The Rat puppet Myth Romney laughs gleefully as he inflicts the wishes of his Socialist masters upon Americans...over and over again.
Hunter/DeMint 2012. Cheers
Would this be a good time for Sarah to fund raise for him?
A renegade could do that. lipstick, high heels, mucho money and attention.
That's not very white of you Huckmister what goes around comes around.
Has the AS staff started smoking the same kind of stuff that the MSM staffs do?
:)
That sure seems like a good idea to me...
