Yankees fans were stunned after beloved "God Bless America" singer Ronan Tynan got himself tossed from tonight’s American League Championship game for making a nasty anti-Semitic remark.

The famous Irish tenor — who has become a iconic staple of New York Yankees playoff games for much of this decade — admitted to making the slur Thursday to a Jewish woman who was looking to buy an a apartment in his East Side building, a team spokeswoman said.

His gig singing for last night game was then cancelled. It was a move that even Yankees fans who loved the singer agreed with.

Do people have to “buy” apartments in NYC instead of renting or leasing them? ....Just askin’.

There are a lot of cooperative apartments in NYC. You don't buy the apartment but a share in the cooperative.

I saw the Irish Tenors in Philadelphia several years ago. It was a great show and we enjoyed it. Tynan has 2 prosthetic legs and is an MD ( I believe)

I thought it was ok for East Coast liberals to slur Jews. Maybe there is hope for America after all.

So he said NY was "Hymie town"? Oh, my bad. That was the REVEREND Jesse Jackson...

who gives a sh#t. Baseball s#cks @ss and PC New York sucks @ss. Why would anybody spend a couple of hundred bucks to watch grass grow.... overpaid game players that you get to watch while drinking $7 beer, wearing $40 jersey after parking in $30 lots. whoop dee doooo...High school or college is where some passion for the games remain. MLB, NBA, NFL.... just bread and circus for those willing to be manipulated.

I wonder if one month from now all conservatives would just boycott a game... just one game and show the @ssholes that run sports who is watching their cr#p.

I just have to laugh thinking about my deceased grandmother. I don’t think she liked anybody, she was Irish. When talking about anybody she’d be saying things like “that fireman’s boy” or that dago or that jew boy and she even refered to fellow irishmen as hymies.....She had a derogatory term for everybody........

He could have said he was a democrat and voted for Obama and there would not have been an issue

It wouldn’t ever occur to me to say that. Maybe “just as long as they’re not Muslims”. I’d be afraid they might accidentally blow up the building.

He said he hoped they were not Jewish and that there had been a lot of scary Jewish ladies looking at the apartment. Where’s the slur?

If he's scared of Jewish ladies then it doesn't say a whole lot about his manhood.

Are you sure she really disliked them or just liked using slang expressions?

A lot of old-timers used to talk like that without really meaning any harm: Irish guys were “Mickies” and the women “old Mollies;” people like me were “squareheads” on one side, “greasers” on the other. Nobody took real offense, unless it was done with a certain tone of voice.

He probably can move his act up the coast. It will probably play better with the Sox crowd, now that the Yanks have booted him.

Reminds me of the old story about Jackson during the Lebanese civil war some about 25 years ago. There was a joke circulating that somebody asked him his views on the Beirut crisis. Jesse supposedly replied, “Beirut? I didn’t know he had a crisis but he could sure play baseball.”
