How Turkey Was Lost to the West (NATO Member Now Part of the Iranian Axis)
RealClearWorld ^ | 10/16/2009 | Caroline Glick

Once the apotheosis of a pro-Western, dependable Muslim democracy, this week Turkey officially left the Western alliance and became a full member of the Iranian axis.

It isn't that Ankara's behavior changed fundamentally in recent days. There is nothing new in its massive hostility toward Israel and its effusive solicitousness toward the likes of Syria and Hamas. Since the Islamist AKP party first won control over the Turkish government in the 2002 elections, led by AKP chairman Recip Tayyip Erdogan, the Turks have incrementally and inexorably moved the formerly pro-Western Muslim democracy into the radical Islamist camp populated by the likes of Iran, Syria, Hizbullah, al-Qaida and Hamas.

What made Turkey's behavior this week different from its behavior in recent months and years is that its attacks were concentrated, unequivocal and undeniable for everyone outside of Israel's scandalously imbecilic and flagellant media.

Actually, until I read this piece, I didn’t realize how far Turkey had gone in recent weeks, either.

I read a whole lot of material from everywhere every day, and what’s been going on with them just hasn’t been reported.

It isn’t just the lying crapola this media establishment publishes that makes them so dangerous, it’s what they hush up or ignore.

To whatever extent we’re still relying on them we’re susceptible to being ill or misinformed.

You make some real solid points here. It is quite important to note what we are not informed about. I think it’s much easier for Israel to look like the bad guy, when you consider that the attacks against it are played down like they are.

Was the public told about Israel coming under rocket attack every day for years? Were they told that the average day saw hundreds of missiles raining in?

No wonder Israel looks bad when it takes violent measures to react, even if they are measured.

What if St. Louis had to put up with thousands of rocket attacks each week? Would it’s mayor just shrug his shoulders and roll over? Would his constituency let him?

People need to think of Israel as their home town. Would they put up with what it has to endure?

And yet, there are some people who just don’t get it.

Turkey sure doesn’t.

I could not believe, at the time, that they would let them into NATO if they were going allahallahakbarmuhammedjihad.

If you are not on the net and actively looking at foreign news and alternative sites, you don’t know what is going on in the world.

Note to self - Let's do somethin about that.

I think the Jews see the arabs for the animals that they are. You don’t hate a snake that bites someone, you kill it. Likewise you don’t hate a shark that attacks someone, you kill it. But emotion is not involved.

There are some who believe the firing squad stories, etc. Or at least they believe the truth lies somewhere in between. One told me a story of IDF coming in and extracting a 9 year old hammy boy who had been throwing rocks. Came to his home, busted down the door, and took him away. I said, throwing rocks is a very serious offense - someone could be hurt or killed.

Most damning of all, is what some cultures do to each other, their wives, their children, their neighbors, all in the name of someone who is honored in this manner and with phrases of respect like, “May peace be upon him.”

Leave Israel out of it for a moment.

Does Israel perform clitorectomies on their females?
Does it beat it’s women for walking around in in decent clothing?
Does it forbid it’s girls to attend school after about the fourth grade?
Does it sell it’s seven year old “WOMEN” into marriage, cursing them with motherhood by ten, or perhaps worse death, because their bodies are not developed enough to deliver a full term baby?
Does it kill it’s women who are raped, allowing the man who did it to go free?
Does it lop off the head of it’s citizens who criticize it?
Does it train it’s citizens to place explosives on their bodies, then explode themselves in the local markets not caring who gets killed?
Does it train it’s citizens to place explosives in cars, and blow them up on busy streets to make a point, not caring who gets killed?
Does it train people to spread poison gass in subways killing innocent people?
Does it blow up trains in order to make a point, killing many innocent people?
Does it train people to hijack planes, then slaughter everyone on board by flying them into skyscrapers in foreign lands, exposing upwards of 50,000 innocent people to instant death?

Tell me what group of people is more destructive to humanity than the sickness that implements this model for civilization?

Imagine if every group that had differences with other, followed this model. Imagine if Israel followed this model. And that’s what you’d have to do, imagine it. Because Israel would never stoop to this sub-human animalistic depravity in the name of someone they reverenced.

It’s all right there for anyone to contemplate for themselves.

Those who don’t and support the perps of these acts anyway, will pay the ultimate penalty for it when judgment day comes.

I loved that book. It's still on my shelf.

It was my first real eye-opener in terms of the potential dangers posed by Islam.

Same here.

All that we are experiencing today was unfathomable at that time.

Unnerving, when you think that The Bible refers to a "False Prophet."
