Ezekiel 38: 1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.
Togarmah = Republic of Turkey
Persia = Iran
In a society of moderate Muslims, it is only a matter of time before some of them finally get around to reading "the book."
There is one problem. U.S. houses nuclear weapons at Incirlik Air Base
They have B-61 gravity nuclear weapons at Incirlik Air Base
Wonder how this is going to play vis-a-vis oil / natural gas pipelines?
Full Disclosure: My understanding of the geopolitical world of Turkey and environs is limited to the James Bond movies From Russia With Love and The World is Not Enough, a dim knowledge that Winston Churchill was somehow associated with Sevastapol, and vague memories of Hitler attacking the Caucasus to get the oil fields, and the Ploesti bombing raid by the Allies.
Oh, and I think Ephesus (of St. Paul's epistle to the Ephesians) is located there.
Cheers!
NO cheers, unfortunately.
NO cheers, unfortunately.
>”The real issue here is Islam. It is not possible to build a free society on an Islamic based culture. The idea that we can be friends with an Islamic based society, regardless of our political class’s efforts to sell Islam as moderate, is false.”
Couldn’t agree more.
For example, although the late Shah and his father starting in the mid 1920’s had secular ambitions for Iran and tried to modernize Iran, The late Shah and his government, also, supported “conservative” Islamic establishment such as the hojjatieh: a) for the fear of communists at the time in Iran, and b) because they believed in moderate, modernized Islam. These conflicting attempts significantly contributed to the Shah’s downfall.
As for Turkey, we really have to look at why the secularists have become weakened in Turkey. AKP is just the tip of the iceberg. AKP, does have support from the West. I’d say many compare AKP in Turkey to, for example, CDU, or “Christian Democrat” party in Germany. These, then, assert that, well, AKP is a muslim version of Christian CDU. So, why complain about AKP in a muslim Turkey? Or, the Reformists of Islamic Republic in Iran, e.g. Mousavi, Karroubi, Khatami, etc... ?
I’d suggest instead of some opting to incessantly promote moderate (political) Islam, we try to promote more secularism in muslim countries such as Iran and Turkey, where there is, at least, more current support for secularism. This is particularly true of Iran, where the majority of the population is under the age of 30, and is sick and tired of having Islamic this and that continuously shoved down their throats.
Even in currently benign, by majority muslim country such as Indonesia, radical (political) Islam is on the rise. It is only a matter of time, until these more radical/conservative Islamists take over, while some in the West continue to promote moderate Islam.
I’m simply outlining some food for thought.
see #28. Thought it might be of interest.
They keep those B-61 bombs in a underground bunker. Those bunkers and bombs have Permissive Action Links on them. Secondly, they are under secured guard by security personnel.

I believe that it is just a matter of time until Wahhabism/Muslim Brotherhood control most of the Islamic world.
We need to worry about us at home and end all Muslim immigration.
It could very well be Turkey’s way of showing utter displeasure with NATO members over blocking Turkey from entering the European Union.
I guess 0b0z0 was supposed to help convincing the Euros, but failed, as usual. The US was slapped as part of NATO rather than a direct anti-US action.
Just sayin’
Persia = Iran
This was predeicted by George Otis in his book the Last of the Giants written almost twenty years ago.
He believed that Turkey would revert to Islamic domination and be the leader of a Turkic alliance, comprised of Central Asian Turkic Muslims (the"stans").
That action by the Turks cost a lot of American lives (as well as other coalition forces).
France was Germany's largest trading partner right up until the day Hitler's blitzkrieg blasted into that country.
If memory serves, the United States was Japan's largest trading partner on December 6, 1941.
I loved that book. It's still on my shelf.
It was my first real eye-opener in terms of the potential dangers posed by Islam.
EV one of the other forum participants and l discussed this and I agreed that Turkey has really fallen off the turnip truck recently as it relates to Israel.
You folks are a lot closer to reality than I was on this one.
As to the points you made here, I think they’re good ones.
