"The irony and sadness of it is that we know what to do. And it can be done ... but we don't have the political or spiritual will to do it," he said.

Reminds me of a certain grasshopper and some ants.

Yes, social justice requires us to eat our seed corn, to impoverish ourselves so that we can’t help the poor in the future — but then, the concept of social justice is of and from Satan.
