The Voting rights Act of 1968”, should be repealed. It has out lived its usefulness.

This is why some people (including me) wanted the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to expire. That act gave the DOJ oversight (for lack of a better term) authority over a number of Southern states with respect to their voter laws. Essentially, for a court to rule with Handel here, they're going to have to rule at least part of the VRA is unconstitutional. The chance of that happening, for all sorts of reason, is slim and none.

Bush shouldn't have signed that extension. But, he did. So, we're stuck with it.
